The mullet hoard rang in on this yesterday on WJOX. It was the topic of conversation all day.
About half decrying the incident, but claiming the offender doesn't represent the fan base as a whole, a la Updyke, who they all secretly love.
The rest made excuses...
"Krystal, Boubon St., late night, what would you expect?" was the primary one.
"He was drunk and passed out, what would you expect?" Another often heard one.
One guy, a guy that actually claimed to be the guy in the video you can hear exclaim "Oh My God!" blamed the police for not stopping it. Said they were 15 to twenty feet away. Um, excuse me bammer, did they SEE it? It's not like a crowd on Bourbon street that night was going to get any attention unless a fight broke out.
Another guy called in to say the kid that took and first posted to video was a piece of shit for posting it. WTF? He merely documented it, and shared it, he didn't do anything. Went so far as to find the kid's identity via info from his twitter account, and said he forwarded the info to "the university" since he was able to determine the kid had recently graduated from Updyke Academy, and still lived just blocks from the stadium. This call left me thinking WTF?
In other words change the facts, and it's like Updyke all over again. They could give a shit less.
