Why Alabama and Arkansas Most Likely Will Not Go to the SECCG

Why Alabama and Arkansas Most Likely Will Not Go to the SECCG
« on: November 19, 2011, 08:43:04 AM »

If LSU loses to Arkansas, they would have to drop five places below Alabama (who would be either #1 or #2).

I doubt that happens, so you could essentially have LSU be the lowest ranked of the three and still get the nod for the championship game.

Due to the fact that everybody, even Auburn people now, are saying there should be a rematch in the BCSCG, the SECCG will be completely irrelevant.

Nope. If Arkansas beats LSU and Bama beats Auburn, Bama goes to the SECCG. If LSU beats us they are in. We're not going.
Fucked up 3 way tiebreaker deal if we happen to beat LSU and Bama wins. It will come down to our head to head against Bama. One scenario is a rematch with them in the NCG. Weird season.

So, it'll be the BCS SEC WEST National Championship of The Century.

So, it'll be the BCS SEC WEST National Championship of The Century.

The second game of the century for all time, within 6 weeks of one another.   We can call it: "The REALLY for REAL, OK LSU, THIS TIME IT REALLY COUNTS FOR ALL THE MARBLES FOR REAL **THIS TIME** GAME!"

Which I'd have no problem with, AS LONG AS, if LSU loses, they get to say: "Ok, best 2 out of 3?"

Is there a clause that determines who go if they are all ranked within five spots of each other?

I mean, if LSU loses to Arkansas and Alabama beats Auburn....

- At worst LSU drops to 4th but more likely 3rd.

- Alabama is 1st.

- Arkansas is 2nd.

Alabama wouldn't go because LSU is within 5 places and would win the head to head.

But LSU couldn't go because Arkansas is within 5 places and would win the head to head.

But Arkansas couldn't go because Alabama is within 5 places and would win the head to head.

It would be a three-way tie in the three-way tie breaker.

Someone said on ESPN last night that IF Arkansas jumped ahead of LSU, LSU would not be considered in the head to head matchup.  It would be between Bama and Arkansas.

But I really don't think they know either.  If Arkansas beats LSU, we could see the fall of the BCS.

I hope that OleMiss beats MState next week.  MState would not be bowl eligible.

You just don't know. Fess up.
We are not going to Atlanta even if we beat LSU. We lose to LSU, they are in the SECCG.
We beat LSU, Bama goes. We could theoretically play in the NCG without playing in the SECCG if we beat LSU. At least, will will be in a BCS bowl by beating LSU and they will be left out.
Worst case--Cotton or Capital 1. Not a bad year however it turns out.
You are confusing tie breaker rules with the 3way tie breaker rules. Different animal.

In a three way tie, it matters where each is ranked in the BCS dumbfuck.
