There Goes My Heart - The Mavericks

You like the Bakersfield sound. I think the Mavericks are the last artist to use that style. I would include Yokam and Marty Stuart but they do so much more than Bakersfield.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Mark Colie (sp?) used that sound some, as did Foster and Lloyd that Snaggs posted on last week.  I do like that sound.

Yes, sir.  I've got 7 of their albums now, plus 2 from Jason Isbell.

I'm Through - Guster

You need to check out Alabama Shakes.  They are pretty good.  They opened for DBT last year and have started to hit it big.

Most of the Mavericks' material and Yokam's I love. I just absolutely loathe Buck Owens though. Its like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Some of Buck I can take, most of it is horrible to me.  Speaking of the Mavericks, Raul Malo can sing.  They have got back together and start touring at the end of this month.  They will be in Nashville on the 4th of July.  If they come back or somewhere close I may have to grab some tickets.

I make no bones about my hate for the man.

Tiger by the Tail is the worst country song of all time - in my little world anyway. Slightly worse than Achey Breaky Heart (sorry Snags).

For shame, Buck is a national treasure.  Now Porter Wagner, he was one old country singer that I just can't abide.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.
