James Willis may be the next DC at Auburn. Story was posted on Goldberg's blog but quickly withdrawn.

Finebaum was talking about this on his show earlier.  He had Bryan Matthews from Rivals on, and he said he didn't think it was going to happen, but he admitted that he didn't know for sure.  I'm not sure how I'd feel about this if it's true.  I admit that I don't like a coach that is learning on the job, but I think we could do worse.

I am surprised and I think Auburn could do much worse, but Willis is a pretty young coach and I gotta think Tuberville is thinking of co-defensive coordinators, one being Willis, the other ???? (preferrably someone who coaches DBs). I think Dunn has the line covered.

A good coat of semen will clear that up.

I would like for our new DC to at least be able to break half as many clipboards during games as Muschamp was able to.  That's my only criteria.

What the hell is the problem?  It is taking this long to announce a DC, and it could be coming from within our staff?  Doesn't sound good to me.

Move along.  Nothing to see here.  TT is a defensive coach first.  We have RARELY been disappointed with the defensive side of the ball.  We will be fine with whomever we get.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Word.  For confirmation, check out StatTiger's defensive analysis under Tubs.  We could have Jojo the helper monkey as DC, assisted by Mike Shula and still post a top 10 D.

When Tuberville promotes from within, it is a debacle. Or at least that one time it was.

I will not be pleased with a promotion of Willis.

I wold guess the '03 debacle of promoting Nall to OC from OL coach.

However, I would not be to disappointed with promoting Willis. I have no reason other than I liked him as a player though and he seems to be doing a fine job with the LB's.

I see what you are saying, but I think that they could keep the defense they have now and Tubs could help Willis make some in game decisions. Defense just does not seem as difficult to coach as offense. (from a complexity side).

The defense is already in tact. And I'm sure the current crop of coaches can coach it. So the only thing we will be lacking on is in game calling experience. Can we overcome that?

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

If we promote from within, it will be a bad hire in that the media will have a field day about AU not being able to hire a big name coordinator.  The bamaham media is just waiting for the opportunity to make AU look bad to the public, and potential recruits.
