You can keep a wooden stake in your trunk
On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

Got tired of dealing with the local knuckle-draggers a couple years ago, switched to sportsbook.com.  Don't hardly bet much anymore, though.  Getting married and buying a condo severely curtailed my gambling.  Last year I put in $200 at the start of the season, spent about 6 weeks running it up to about $800, then got cocky and lost it all the next two weeks.  I didn't even bet the Superbowl last year, the first time in probably 15 years.  (still lost money on the Kentucky Derby, though).
I do have a buddy that runs an NFL pick'em if anyone is interested.  It's $5 a week, and $25 for the yearly total, picking every game against the spread.

I simply have other vices.  This way, one to two trips to the casino per year do the trick for me.

I also have TigersX fantasy games that keep me going throughout the year.

If you like poker, I have lots of friends that do Pokerstars.net or any of those other sites...you can play for anything from cents to big money in Texas Hold 'em format, whenever you want.

Fuck a bookie in da mouf.

The skinny older lady across the street is usually lonely. And when my wife goes..........

Oh. You meant gambling fix. I guess you could call it gambling. If my wife finds out, I just gambled my balls away.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

How much can $5 win per week?

It will probably be somewhere north of $400 this year (80+ people).  It's grown every year.  It's a well run pool, set up on cbssportsline.  It's nice having so many people because the payout is bigger, but it's made it a bitch to win.  There are usually 14 to 16 games a week (depending on how many teams have a buy), picking against the spread you typically have to hit at least 11 to win the money, and some weeks 13 won't get it done.  Nobody was perfect last year, but there was one perfect week in 07, and someone went 15 out of 16 in a week last year.  In the yearly pool, the winner picked 151 games correctly (out of 256) to take home just over $1000 (it pays like 5 places in the yearly total).
