I said I wasn't going. Too Damn Hot!!!
Decided to do a bike ride right after work. Still hot as Satan's ass crack, but I'm on a bike. Wind in my hair. One with nature. 1 mile into the ride....BAM! Flat tire. Walked it back to the Ford F-150. But hey, I'm hardly sweating. There may be something to this lack of humidity thing.
So, I decided to hit a game. And it turned out to be pretty comfortable, and definitely not too bad on the players.
Carroll of Ozark vs. Dothan. Carroll is a 5A team, and normally pretty stout, with a lot of athletes. Not this year. Dothan won 59-14, after being up 52-7 at half. Just a few of quick observations.
Dothan is really fast on the outside. Had a receiver make two amazing, highlight reel runs, one after a catch, and one on an end around. Good size on the line, a QB that can toss it around pretty gooder, and all around great speed.
The D is still a bit undersized, but a shit ton of speed. They had a DB who made two interceptions right in front of me, and run both back for TD's. The amazing thing was the returns were both over 90 yards. Speed!!! However, that brings up the achilles heel for this team.
The DB was beaten on both plays. Their QB sucked ass and underthrew both balls. This team cannot cover for shit. I went to three of their games last year, two of which were Central and Opelika. They handled Opelika, but got whipped constantly in the secondary. Played Central off their feet, but all Central had to do was go long every other play, and cruise into the end zone. One of the interceptions I was referring to, was on a 4th and 19. The receiver was 5 yards behind the DB, but again, the Ozark QB was teh suxxors.
Anyway, not that anyone outside of GH, whose Red Devils are in Dothan's region, cares. But, it was good to hit a real, live foosball game.
