Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

It's a meme...so you know that shit is true.

It may be that Franken said that, but I suspect the paraphrase is lacking a lot of context.

Have you heard Stuart Smalley speak?

One of the most arrogant, least knowledgable people in the universe.  He was a shitty performer on SNL and an even worse politician.

It's not an exact quote but it isn't out of context.  Watch the video.

Serious question.

Do Wes and Chizad ever tire of being so stunningly wrong politically?

I've yet to be proven wrong politically.

I'll take some examples, if you can find 'em.

I think it's the principle folks.

The super delegates on the dem side.

The 3rd party and convention rule change threats by Romney on the GOP side.

Whether you like the front runners or not, that kind of shit reeks.

I personally am thankful for the Democratic "establishment" thwarting the radical who, if elected could tear at the fabric of what makes America the great nation that it is.

I wish the GOP would have been successful at doing the same.

Bernie is a socialist. But he would absolutely get NOTHING done. Nothing near what he is saying. No congress is going to go along with that. And I don't think he would wield an executive order hammer like other presidents. If he did it wouldn't stand anyway. Hillary is dangerous to me. She is corrupt. She is coniving. She lies like most of us breathe. She will ram shit through. I think she is more center than Bernie but she also has greater likelihood of actually implementing it. The superdelegate system is bullshit. And I'll say it again, the kinds of underhanded stuff on both sides are exactly why Bernie and trump happened. I just don't think either was the solution or anecdote to it.

I agree with this. The only difference between you and I is that I'm not one to always stick to my principles anymore. Been there and done that X 2. Now, I am willing to gamble on the lesser of two evils.

Not going to make any difference, at least I don't think. But, at least I will know that I did my part to at least attempt keeping the slimier of the slimey out of office.

See this thread.

Nope.

The meme uses the words "more important" to describe Franken's opinion of his judgment.  He didn't say that.  So...the meme is false, but just outrageous enough to be shared/liked/posted/pinned/tweeted/snapchatted/etc by your favorite mouth-breathing relatives.

This is the problem with hyper-partisanship. It rots your brain.

Clearly, he tried to justify the "more important" meme someone photoshopped and found the "America Rising Pac" article as a result of that google search.

This is the video in question.

The description around the video, as well as the title of the video both are liberal (no pun intended) with their paraphrasing.

"The superdelegates are part of the system. I haven't read that in the rules, that interpretation."
and
"I think Democratic voters who elected me to the Senate want me to exercise my judgement on who I think would be the best president of the United States and I think that person is Hillary Clinton."

=

CCTAU's meme being retarded and Kaos being wrongidy wrong wrong wrong again.

The "occupy democrats" Facebook page does it all day long. Some take it as gospel.  It's quite humorous.

I'm right about it all.  Almost always am.  Nothing has been factually anyhoo'd.

You will see.
Nice job wriggling away to the other thread...

I'm only holding your feet to the fire about who's right and who's wrong because of your arrogantly ignorant proclamation.

Hold still and answer the question. Is this accurate or is this Facebook meme dipshittery?

Did Franken answer the question of why he cast his super-delegate vote for Hillary despite his state voting for Sanders with "My judgment is more important than the judgment of Minnesota voters" as his explanation?

Or are you wrong?

Hint: You're wrong.

I'm on my phone.  Wasn't aware I'd switched threads.  Point remains that you are wrong about 90% of this stuff.

As for the Franken meme, you can parse what he said in any way you want.  He said he was selected by Minnesota voters to make his own decision regardless of what the people want.

That's manipulating the intent of the rule and saying that his judgment was of greater value than theirs.

Pretty much exactly what the meme says.

He said he was selected by the Minnesota voters to make his decision, and said nothing about it being "regardless of what the people want".

It's not exactly what the meme says.

Wrong again.

Y'all are splitting hairs. His job is to represent the people who voted him in office, the people of his district. The people of his district have voted for Bernie Sanders. He deciding to go against what his constituents voted for and with his own agenda is exactly what's wrong with the dipshit politicians in office. And that is exactly why y'all are about to lose your god damn minds over Trump. So stop supporting arguments to back those dickheads in doing whatever they want instead of working for the people of their regions/districts.

I agree with the guy that Bernie Sanders is a lunatic, but that's not his job. His job is to represent his constituents.
