I definitely do not want AU to get into a bidding war with TAMU for Muschamp. We don't win that one. They has the deep pockets and yes, we could run the bidding up but I don't think it's a good idea. Why do that when there are other solid options out there.
I don't know that the faggies are talking to him but I would suspect that they are.
I've never cared much for Muschamp. He's one of Saban's boys but that's not the reason. When he was here, I didn't like his ego that was as big as Bobby Petrino's. Mofo thinks very highly of himself and doesn't back it up as much.
Ex: He made fun of the fact that AU fans criticized the fact that our db's didn't turn for the ball when he was here. Well, guess what? They rarely played the ball. I understand that new coaching has them reading the WR's eyes and basically face guarding. I think the Gators likely did the same.
Then, the fiasco when he left. I don't like Jay Jacobs and especially Tim Jackson. I think Jackson is a queer. But, I just thought it was disrespectful to AU for Muschamp to have agreed in principal to the terms of a contract and then bolt at the last minute because he pissed about some trivial matter. Maybe there was more to the story but he should've got word out, if there was.
Also, he's good friends with Jimbo. Need I say more?
Anywho, I'm just not a big fan but I do think he's a good coordinator. Great? I don't know. I don't know that the Gators were great this year. I haven't seen stats, so someone enlighten me. But, I do know that they didn't look great to my eye test on the several games that I watched. They did look great vs the thugs but I thought Bama ended up softening them up.
I guess what I'm getting at is that I won't be disappointed if we don't land him and get someone with less star power. I'm sure that there are guys out there that Gus knows about that I've never heard of. That's fine with me. That may be the better bargain.
We don't need to spend $1 mil on a coordinator unless it's a very good bet. Champ may need a break. He's drained emotionally, I would think. And I doubt he's as hungry as a guy that is trying to make a name for himself, esp since he has a multimillion dollar buyout.
I won't be disappointed if it is but I won't be disappointed if it's not. That's all I've got to say about that.
