If you didn't shed a tear for Twisty tonight, I gotta question your humanity.

Masterful job of making the despicable spicable again.

Not so much Jessica Lange, who is flailing like a three legged dog in a tar pit with this role.

Even though it was mostly devoid of gore and strayed too far into sexual sadism for my taste, I truly enjoyed tonight's episode.

Closing out this season...

After the clown storyline flamed out early on, the rest of the series just floundered around.  The performances -- particularly those of Evan Peters and Emma Roberts -- were astoundingly bad.  Chiklis wasn't good, Angela Basset overacted horribly, Finn Witrock (or whatever) as simply terrible.  Even Doogie Howser was really sort of wasted.

The first season was so amazingly good. It twisted and turned and you never really knew what was real and what was imagined.  Even though I sort of suspected how it would end, I didn't really anticipate and was surprised.  It was a 9 out of 10.

This was barely a 3.

It traded horror for meaningless gore.  There was really not a single scary or spooky minute in the series after the clown died (and not much before that).

Instead of engaging the audience with excellent writing and intrigue, it substituted gruesome depravity for the sake of depravity.  Lobster fingers, chubby fucking.  It was just stupendously bad.

The season/series finale was the absolute worst of the lot.  Poor Jessica Lange.  She was fantastic as the former actress/southern belle neighbor in Season 1. She was marvelous as the queen witch in Season 3. Sucked as a nun in Season 2 (Asylum, so bad I quit midway through).  She was horribly miscast in this role with her fake German accent and shitty singing.  Given that all seasons supposedly tie together, I guess she was Elsa hiding in plain sight, but whatthefuckever.  The entire storyline was stupid and wasted.  Just a hodgepodge of stupid shit tacked together with tape and string.

If it ever comes back, I hope they get rid of all the actors on there now and go back to true horror and not just vulgarity.

I turned Asylum off.  I bailed on FreakShow.

Against my better judgment I decided to go back to the well one more time and give Hotel a chance.  Two episodes in and I'm glad I did.

The first episode went back to the horror aspect.  Sexy horror. Violence porn. It's dripping in blood, coated in gore, dwelling in the horror. It was fantastic.

Succubus kids, Vampira Gaga strutting around, sexualized gore, horrific characters, situations designed to make you uncomfortable.  I just have to say Gaga isn't ever going to be a great actress and she's not that pretty, but in this role?  Holy fuck. Pardon the pun but she absolutely KILLS. She's as close to perfect as you can get.

Kathy Bates is well cast as the caretaker/clerk. Burned man vamps it up as Cleopatra. Not sure what to make of the former two-headed girl as some sort of crack whore. Matt Bomar and Finn Cockrocket (or whatever) swish as models with an appetite.

That first episode was everything the show should have been for the last several seasons and strayed away from.

I expected a letdown in the second episode.  Wrong.  It didn't disappoint even though it was an extended, overly long episode.

Impressed with where it is and hope it maintains the pace.

THIS is the show I wanted from a series named American Horror Story.

When the absolute worst part of the show is Evan Peters (and he's pretty awful) there's a good thing going.

If you left it before?  Come back.

I got home from umpin last night and wife was watching whatever the last episode was, In the thirty seconds I saw before getting in the shower was some dude with a gun, shot a chick In the head and someone shot or stabbed him in the throat. Hell, I can see that on the local news.

I did leave it before and just happened to catch the first two this time around as well.  Agreed on all points.
