I could live with that.  The years he was DC at Miami his defenses were ranked pretty damn good.

2002 – 7th
2003 – 2nd
2004 – 28th

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I could live with that.  We would have South FL on lockdown for recruiting.

Personally, I know it's not popular, but I want Whitt Jr as DC/DB, Thig to move to LB where he belongs and hire Pelton someone else to coach the ends and let Pelton worry about the tackles.

I grew up not to far from NJHS.  His teams were tough as hell back then.  I have met him several times and talked to him some.  He is a really good guy and believe it or not, knows the game.  He just isn't getting it done for whatever reason.  So yeah, he needs to go back to a desk job.

I liked the idea of Joe Whitt Jr and the more I read about him and the more I remember about his dad, the more I am becoming sold on him.   The thing that worrys me about Shannon is the whole Miami booster deal.  Wasn't he there when that was going on?  Don't get me wrong I think he is a hell of a DC and recruiter, but that scares me just a little.

He was there, so was Tubs I believe. I agree, Shannon does scare me a bit in regards to cruiten violations. Everything I have heard though, it was Shannon trying to clean it up.

I may be way off base here but I seem to recall on that Meeyami deal, that it had been a part of the culture for years. And when Shannon took over, he did what he could to keep his players out of it but it was way too entrenched for him to put a stop to it.  As long as he was there, I imagine he was well aware of what was going on, though.

You are correct. Shannon hasn't been implicated in any of that. He was indeed trying to clean Miami up. Look what it got him. He was fighting a lopsided, losing battle the whole time.

Not that I really have a dog in the fight, but there are so many coaching changes happening right now, AU may benefit from letting the dust settle after all of the bowl games are played. New coaches may want to bring in their own folks, some coordinators might not like the new coach, etc etc.
