I showed my stupidity in the quotes.

I love it when you post, stupid or not. That avatar is hot.

So, Sani's not stupid?

Well, after all this discussion, I have come to the conclusion that if Trotter and Mosely are truly neck and neck....we're fucked.

You don't suppose maybe Gus was just trying to give Mosley a little pat on the back, and a "go get em Tiger" via the press do you?   Just a little shot in the arm before he sends him in to the Arena against one of the best defenses in the nation?

Or maybe he should have simply told the truth all the way around: "Look, Trotter won the battle on the practice field.  We thought he gave us the best chance to win.  He's a fighter, and a leader.  But, when the lights came on, he froze up.  We're playing Clint just because it was time for a change and we're hoping for the best."

Or do you all think they looked at Trotter and Mosley back in August, and said, "Yeah, Mosley's really got it all, and he's beat the shit out of Trotter on every rep, but fuck it, lets play Trotter, the pornstache looks cool!"

You seriously ask, after those couple of statements that amount to little more  than mere puffery, "why Did they start Trotter to begin with?"
And? The coaches are the ones making it out like the kid is the best thing since sliced bread, and always was from day one. It's not my fault that, in an attempt to "puff him up" and a pat on the back, that what they are saying about him doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the situation halfway into the season.

Somebody with a gun held down Mosely and stuck something in him?

I finally see the disconnect here.

My fault.  I was  apparently  :pwnd: by teh quote function.  My original response of "Are you that stupid?" was supposed to be to this:

Sorry Sani!

I still love you, if that counts for anything.

How is this so? I thought Fav-rah was considered to be a big gunslinger?

#14 Barrett Trotter       Att Comp  Int    Pct Yards  TD Long Sack-Yds   Effic

    TOTALS................    149   81    6   54.4  1009  10   56   13-68   125.34

The numbers obviously reflect the problem where Trotter is concerned.  This just isn't the same QB that started the season, not in confidence or accuracy.  Agaisnt Utah State and MSU, he put up very solid numbers and seemed to throw the ball with good confidence.  Early on, he looked good against Climpsum, mainly because they were pounding the ball in the first quarter and a half.  When Climpsum started getting after him a little, he began his suckage.  He was very average to below average against Florida Epileptic and USCe, throwing 3 picks and as you can tell, it was a downhill slide from there. No confidence, badly missing wide open receivers, leaving the pocket too soon...

Having said that, my hope is that Mosely can come in and look at least as good as Trotter did early on.  Nothing great, just solid play, running the offense.  Make LSU at least have to respect the pass.

I certainly think that this will be the case but they will still stack the box to make Mosley punish them for it. I do like that fact that there is somewhat of a surprise element that Auburn has with Mosley at QB. With no real game tape to breakdown, LSU is left guessing a wee bit.

The mere mention of Moseley's name strikes fear in the hearts of opposing DC's.  Kind of like when an insurance company gets a letter of rep from me.
