He's getting some real shitty advice on how to handle this thing. He could have come out of this looking like the noble warrior who was held back from "doing the right thing". Instead, he seems to be changing his stance hour by hour.
Gassing tons of people is an atrocity. You lead the charge in taking your case to the UN. If they don't back you when it happened in their own back yard, at least you tried and told the world you were prepared to step in.
