Projecting the 2009 football roster
Hey everyone. So a few weeks ago, we reviewed the Tigers' 2008-09 scholarship allocations to get our bearings. It proved helpful in some ways.

Let's take it one step beyond that. Below find what I expect to be Auburn's 2009-2010 allocation chart. This should give you a better feel for where Gene Chizik has leigitmate depth and where The Holes may lie.

It'll be obvious.

For this exercise, I'm assuming the signees will qualify. A few of them won't, of course, but it's pointless for me to alter numbers based on academic projections.

Linebacker scares the shipth out of me.  A couple of injuries and we're up the proverbial creek.

And did I just count right? 10 Seniors total?   :jaw:

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

So if there are 10 seniors and we have 85 on scholly already, how do people project 16-18 schollys available for next year? It looks like we should only have 10. What am I missing???

Very young. That will pay off in a couple of years.

My question: in this modern era, what the fuck is the substantive difference between tailback, halfback and running back?

Well, let's see if I can get that number to 16-18.
(10) Seniors
(3) Mario Fannin, Josh Bynes & DeAngelo Benton could jump to the NFL if they have a really good to great year
(2) Players that probably aren't going to qualifying
(2) DE Andre Wadley will probably be put on a Medical Scholarship, if he hasn't already...TE Brent Slusher is done with football (medical)
(1) Brandon Jacobs could very well end up signing a MLB Contract
(18) Open Spots

Plus there still might be some attrition, not like UT's (11)...but maybe (1-3) Scholarship players

So, (21) Avaliable Scholarships isn't out of the relm of possibilities.

Only names.  Nebraska does, or did call them I-Backs.
