I find it almost implausible that the coach of our team cannot/will not get our guys shooting free throws when he himself was an 85% FT shooter.

The best players don't always make the best coaches.  Problem is that they were/are good at it and can't fathom how someone else couldn't be.  They expect you to be able to do the things they do with ease. Doesn't always work that way. 

Best coaches are the guys who struggled along. 

Guarantee Shaquille could put on a FT shooting clinic.

Exactly.  I want to know their practice schedule.  Each of the players should start and end practice with 30 free throws each.  Maybe even do the drill in the middle of practice.  Then, the perimeter shooters should be practicing their 3 pointers.  If we only could've become more consistent in these two areas, our teams could perhaps have tasted sweetness...
