So what's the deal with the "No Racism" rule?
« on: December 19, 2007, 03:36:22 PM »
I understand the no nudity rule keeping the work crowd out of trouble, but I want some clarification on the "no racism."

For instance, if I decide to make fun of Rich Rodriguez's Hispanic heritage by calling Michigan's stadium "La Casa Grande" is that unacceptable?  Or what if I post a picture of Hitler playing a banjo or call somebody a hook-nosed Jew for being cheap?

If we all agree to be over 18 I really don't see the big deal.  I mean there's a post up right now with a link to a girl shitting into her own mouth.  Is racism really worse than that?  We're all big boys/girls and I think we can handle it.

First: kudos on your name.  Kevin Smith fans are always welcome.

Second: It is what it is.  Start spouting racist shit and you'll get tossed.

Seriously.  We've got 2 fucking rules on this website, and already someone is bitching about one of them?  It's all good, I'm sure you can find a Klan board to visit if you get the urge.

La Casa Grande-that's funny.  I don't see a problem with that.

He's right on both counts.....

Now if RR had become the coach at Bama last year then this would be acceptable.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

La Casa Grande-that's funny.  I don't see a problem with that.

Nor do I.

If BunnyMan were to go into a tirade denigrating RichRod's heritage using various epithets to demean people of hispanic origin, then we'd have a problem.

See how easy it is to make the distinction?

I think it's pretty safe to say you'd get a warning first.  You'd have to do something really fucked up to get banned from this site.

Not a problem.  We're pretty fair-minded here, with a desire to engage in as little moderation as possible.

That's pretty much what I wanted to gain from this discussion.  I'm not a Klan member and in fact if I showed up there I doubt I'd be very welcome if you catch my drift.  So I don't plan on being "warned" anytime soon.  I was just digging for an answer to why a board with seemingly no rules had no racism as one of it's only two rules.  Really I consider it to be the only rule, because nudity would technically be illegal on a forum that doesn't require a credit card if I'm not mistaken.

Interesting consideration.  I think we could freely share our collections of pornography amongst ourselves with the proper age-appropriate safeguards.

It's all good NR.  I'm sure since you were wondering about it, that many others may have been as well.  We will pretty much leave it up to each poster to determine if they are crossing the line or not.  It should be common sense, but if there is something blatant out there, it will likely be removed.

Racism = Stupid.

Porno = Awesome.

You will be warned first, then there is a $30,000 fine directly paid to myself.  Then, you get booted.  Heres the thing, just don't act like a bammer (moron) and you should be alright.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."
