That said..... It doesn't matter if AU is lining up Barry Sanders and Walter Payton back there. Just like it doesn't matter if Jerry Rice, Steve Largent, Michael Irvin, and Randy Moss all start at WR.
Got to have somebody to block and somebody who can throw it in their vicinity instead of curling up into a ball.
Those things - to the best of my understanding - do not exist.
Nor does - at this point - the gameplanning acumen to effectively strategize their use.
This is where I am. Nothing would please me more than to see Freeze and co. gameplan better for opponents and make some necessary adjustments on the fly instead of appearing helpless as to what's taking place on the field and mostly waving a disgusted hand at officials for setbacks.
It's obvious to all that we were sapped of talent by the Hatpin regime but you can't just mail it in and afterwards start looking for ways to excuse the play on the field.
Not pretending to be any strategist but team's short on talent have put their best on one side to at least find some success. Load up on the weakside and run it until they stop it and then switch to the strongside while using a quick game to at least make the defense "uncomfortable."
That's not being negative, it's being real.
Know they played their hearts out against our rivals but against the others... Freeze must do better, much better.
All said I'm happy with recruiting. Incredible job considering where we were with high schools. No denying that.
Just can't roll with the sunshine pumping but should he assemble the parts and get them prepared I will give the man his due, even in defeat.
