I would say sweet potato casserole simply because it is the perfect compliment next to the main event which of course is cornbread dressing with giblet gravy.
Don't care what meat is served be it turkey, ham, spam etc.
Have smoked pork butt as an alternative but a seafood boil might be as good if not better. It's about family.

Green bean casserole for life.  It is the perfect combination.  Cream of mushroom soup, green beans, French fried onions.  All great alone, combined?

Nirvana.

Side question…

Cranberry sauce out of a fucking can or homemade?

I was raised by monsters and told that Ocean Spray from a can was good.

Scratch collard greens are up their too.

I don't give two flying fucks about mac and cheese or mashed potatoes.

There is no such thing as unhealthy green beans. I had some fried last week.  My cholesterol went down.

Turnip greens > collard greens all day long.

Get a fucking clue.

I'm all about that cornbread dressing action, personally, as the main course. Have had turkey, ham, seafood, steak, chicken, all as the meat and all work. I'm there more for the fellowship, football, and consistent grazing.

Can't miss with a green bean casserole really ever.

The one thing I'm still not sold on is pumpkin-anything.

Agreed to disagree, freak.  Apparently, our sweet potato casseroles are different.  Anything (besides Asian dishes) that contain brown sugar, pecans or marshmallows are desserts.  If you only had baked sweet potatoes mashed up, I weep for you.

Mix some mustards in with your turnips for a pro move, but...

jmar is correct and for this meal, my collards are going in EVERYONE's mouth.  Get some!

The only thing a pumpkin is good for is jack o lanterns or filled with ground beef and cooked until no pumpkin is left.

Pumpkin spice anything is trash.  I would rather taste kerosene.

Mustard greens are great but fresh ones are hard to find.

Collards are still trash.

Yep because I actually cook unlike the Walmart sponsored bitch that could barely boil water. I do like redheads though.

Have not. Wife's extended fam (Baldwin Co folk) did a low country boil one year and it was excellent.
