Re the mayor\preacher who was a cross dresser, I was telling a friend of mine about it, thinking I was breaking the story, when she said “and he killed himself, yesterday.” I was like…wait, this is something different. I didn’t know that part.
Before he kilt himself, I thought it a little funny, I must admit. Sad, sure. But I am a believer and still see the hypocrisy in a lot of religion. It happens and as a friend of mine pointed out, the media loves it when any religious group screws up. They had a winner all around for themselves and I understand why they ran with the story. But it resulted in him killing himself. I don’t relish in that thought and hope they won’t. He was a sick dude.
A somewhat Libertarian (maybe a little Conservative outlet) ran with the story of his misdeeds (1819.com) - which already went WAYY beyond just being a trans crossdresser IN PUBLIC on reddit and IG - darker stuff like using real people and STUDENTS (minors) In his erotic p0rn stories online, which included posting their pictures, and things he did to women in his store. But on top of that more stuff was starting to leak out into Friday.
- The 1819 article dropped Wednesday morning.
- He goes in front of church Wed night, confesses it all, isn't sorry, says love it or leave it and that he isn't ashamed. Keep in mind this is THE PASTOR of this big Baptist Church.
- More info leaks out into Thursday as the article is shared around. More dark stuff.
- Rick and Bubba pick up on it on their show Thursday.
- More people chime in Thursday and into Friday that this has been going on 20 years with lies and coverups, which included his 1st wife leaving him over it with her being paid off to keep quiet for fear of ruining his reputation.Victims of his exploits start talking more.
- He leaves his house with a gun early Friday evening. Wife (2nd wife) sees this. Calls Lee County Sheriff to go find him on a welfare check.
- Friday evening around 5 or so car is spotted in rural lee county between Valley and Opelika. They give chase at a low speed, he finally pulls over, comes out of car with gun in hand and blows head off.
- Lee County Sheriff is "investigating"
- On into Saturday more claims come out online of this darker misdoings. People once defending the good mayor are now taking down those posts. I hope someone did a screenshot.
- Sat - a memorial is placed in front of his church where supporters can lay flowers in his honor. Rode by 24 hours later, I saw 2 things of flowers.
My ultimate nutshell synopsis here? Dude had a ton of dark secrets that went way beyond wanting to dress up in a woman's skirt. It was not a hobby. He had some dark demons that he never got a grasp on it and he hurt a lot of people on that journey. When he knew more was probably going to come to light and that it would have serious implications on him? He ended things....he knew the walls were closing in because that article from 1819 was just the start. I am going to stop short of saying "Gothika" if youve ever seen that Halle Berry movie from years past but it's the same kind of dark rabbit hole people like him go down. He was brash and cocky, and had a ton of anger and that is most likely a lot of the reason he never sought help for his demons - he had a ton of hubris. I don't like hypocrites but my disdain for the guy went way beyond that with this story. I feel terrible for his kids and his wife. They didn't deserve this ending or having to pick up these pieces.
So circling back around to the media.....NOW, the more left wing outlets are pouncing on this story for the social justice angle him being a weird, cross dressing, trans activist (apparently). He is being lauded as a martyr for nothing more than to tow an ideology line.
Ok, back to normal foosball ramblings.......
But for one of the few times ALL SEASON? Auburn was NOT Ass. Sure the pick 6 was ass but the game as a whole was not. It was never in doubt, and frankly we seem to play like ass in that place the last 15 years or so. Thorne's QBR and % were great. Quez is finally looking like pre-porno quez, the qb shuffle has ended, and hot damn we may just resemble a "decent" fb team now. No, were not good, but 6-6, 7-5? I think I will take that.
