Four-star-rated athlete Jalewis Solomon announced his de-commitment from Auburn on Tuesday, according to his Instagram account.

In an article on On3.com, Solomon said he rushed his commitment.

Solomon is rated as a top 200 player in the class of 2024 according to 247Sports’ composite ranking. He initially committed to Auburn in August just after the team’s Big Cat Weekend recruiting event on campus in late July.

The Georgia native picked Auburn over a list of schools including South Carolina.

A prediction on his 247Sports recruiting profile expects him to eventually choose the Gamecocks.

According to 247Sports, Auburn still has a top-20 overall recruiting class for 2024, ranked 17th overall.

He seemed to chase stars and not worry about roster management/shoring up depth where it was needed most (hint: offensive line).  Couldn't agree more.  I have been pleased with Hugh's strategy in finding specialists thus far to fit what he is wanting to do in the future.
