LSU vs. Clemson for the Title
« on: January 13, 2020, 10:05:01 AM »
I'm picking Clemson. For all the talk these offenses receive (most of it deserved), something tells me this may end up more like the 2010 BCS Championship that featured two high-flying offenses in Oregon and Auburn. The defenses dictated that game and I think with the amount of time between the semifinals and this game, I think these two genius Defensive Coordinators (LSU's Dava Aranda and Clemson's Brent Venables) are going to determine the outcome. And with that in mind, Clemson gets the slightest edge.

Clemson 23, LSU 21

Even though Clemson has the edge in title game experience, I just don't see Burreaux checking up at all.  He just seems to be the guy that no situation is too big for.  Especially if his RB is 100% or close to it, I don't see Clemson stopping them.  I fully expect to to be a 41-38 kinda game too, because that Hanson brother is a damn good QB too and they have a very good RB as well.  I don't see either of these DCs being able to scheme a way to stop either offense...and I think the LSU offense is head and shoulders above Clemson's offense.

Give me Burrow and the LSU secondary.  Tigahs win it handily.

Part of me thinks that LSU wins going away but that other part is considering the big game experience that Clemson has.  I hope that LSU curb stomps them like they have never been curbed stomp in their history.  I hate Dabo and his crybaby ass.

I can't stand Dabo. I also can't stand LSU.

Bu this is easier to stomach than the turd vs. fuga crap(I did not watch a down). So I will lean toward LSU.

If Burreaux continues to see the field like he has, it won't be close. He knows his key reads and when he gets in trouble, his WRs have been coached to get open.

This is where I am at. I was listening for a bit this morning as one analyst went into some detail about Venables being caught with his pants down while oposing offenses go into hurry up. Said he like to wait till the last moments to call his defensive play. That be the case, I expect to see Burreaux to pick them apart early with a heavy dose of some Clyde in the 2nd half.

I heard some analyst say Clemson had the edge because they were "battle tested" and LSU hasn't really played anybody.  Really?

There's too much time between games.  Too much air space for these idiots to fill.

Also?  What happened to Tim Tebow's head.  I heard someone else say it like a possum had been skinned and laid on top of it.  Damned if it doesn't.

Oh man... the pop-up book type sign on Gameday with Dabo's face and a corndog slamming in and out of his turtle-fucking mouth?

If you didn't see it, you missed a classic.  It was great.

And I'm saying this now.  Burrow is a good QB, but he's drifted way past confident into smug and cocky.  Almost to bubbling-asshole level. There's a line there and I think he crossed it.  It would not surprise me if he shit the bed in a spectacular way.

Well, there was some defense for half a quarter. LSU is on fire and Clemson is ice cold. 28-17 at the half and Ed's dudes get the ball in the 3rd. They score there, might be the curtain.

Looks like Burrow is hurt for the second half. He looks slow and addled.

Burrow was one of few Heisman winners that actually looked the part in a championship game.

Clemson was feisty, but proved they really hadn't played a tough schedule week in and week out.

Boom.
A regular Nostra Dumbass.

Srsly, that pretty much sums it up.  LSU's DBs did as good a job as you can do on a great group of receivers.  And Burrow looks like he's been playing in an NFL system for 5 years.  So damn accurate and makes the right decision just about every time.
