Pretty sure he edited it to say Rocker was the top choice to return.  Hope it happens

Ok...now I'm starting to get a little bit tingly.

What if the problem always was Chizik and only Chizik and Rocker left because of Chizik and Malzahn left because of Chizik and the players were out of control because of Chizik and 2010 was really a succes in spite of Chizik?

And now the good parts are coming back...could it be so?

I mis-typed earlier; LINK reports Rocker is the top candidate for DL coach. He has not been hired (yet). My apologies...

Really kinda shocked at this, but maybe Rock found the NFL wasn't all that.  Or maybe he left Auburn for another reason?  Namely, no discipline?  Maybe he knows something about Malzahn we don't?

Would be fuckin' huge for sure to land him back as a DL coach.

I'm not big on the Chizik staff nepotism in general, but there's no doubt Rocker at DL coach would be a huge first step.

Well, word was that Rocker got out of dodge because he didn't like the Chizik program.

So I would label it as nepotism.

And when rock went to Jj about it, the dumb fuck told him to make sure the door didn't hit him on the way out. Hearing Sullivan talk this morning on scarbos show, I feel a little better about Gus. I highly respect pats opinion and he said they vetted the shit out of every candidate.

More and more convinced that Chizik and Jj are 100% to blame for the mess and not the asst coaches.

Sullivan wouldn't lie.  He wouldn't be compromised either.  He may be lied to, or misinformed, but HE is on the up and up.  I think if the search were a sham, he'd just keep his mouth shut.

The things I heard from my "source" and the things that Heath Evans said were signs of a program with no leader.  No discipline.  My feeling, and it's nothing more than that, is that Chiz was a "player's coach" and was more a friend to them than a leader, and I think he hamstrung his coaches in discipline.  Not their fault if that's the case.

I would bet it has more to do with the shaky future of Munchak and him more than likely getting fired at the end of the season.  New coach, new staff.

Pretty much what I was getting at. If Sullivan says it I believe it. The guy is honest to a fault. It def lends more credibility to Gus being picked. But Jj still fucked up the search like he has fucked up our athletic dept since he was hired. I honestly think if it were all jj's doing we would have hired Shane Watson. I really do.

Looks like Jacobs got the exact response out of the "search committee" he was looking for

Had a HUGE Longhorn booster/co-worker say the same thing to me yesterday about Mack Brown.  Could be the reason why Coach Boom left.

Mack is burned out, and just collecting a check as long as they'll let him.

Mack is burned out, and just collecting a check as long as they'll let him.

His contract guarantees him a lifetime position at the University in some capacity... like "Special Advisor to the AD", similar to Pat Dye.  The general consensus among Brown's Cows these days is that he should exercise that option...
