- South Carolina is on upset alert. Their offense was pathetic save for some nice runs by Lattimore and gutsy scrambles by Shaw. Shaw is nursing an injured shoulder. East Carolina has a history of coming out of nowhere to upset teams early in the season.
- Arkansas should be stuck and smoked after scheduling two patsy opponents to open their season. Don't they know they play in the SEC? Jack State and LA Monroe at home to start the season?
- No, Vanderbilt doesn't get credit if they beat Northwestern*. They're claiming to be better than the old Vandy. Northwestern at the beginning of the season is a cupcake match you schedule following a tough game. Old Vandy brags and celebrates this win. New Vandy should just move on to next week.
- Kentucky better not lose to Kent State. Kent State's players don't even know which direction to run on the field.
*Northwestern is a respectable opponent if faced in a bowl game.
