Not that bad here in Gulf Shores. Sustained winds around 30, gusting to 40. We have had 1.5" of rain here since 00:41 this morning. Flooding at the beach is the main problem right now.

Here in Saint Clair County, we have been holed up in the basement all evening.  I'm almost afraid to see what it looks like out there.

I dodged a swirl of leaves whipped into a frenzy by a 15 mph gust of wind.

I am going to file for medical leave.  I was traumatized.

Why did Obama abandon you?

FEMA set up camp in NOLA four days before the hurricane hit. Hmmm. Anywho, they have 18 truckloads of diapers and tennis shoes for the hurricane victims. Washington has promised water and ice, but those trucks went to Tampa instead. God Bless NOLA.

Really it appears to me that the only casualty of this thing is the Texas A&M opener.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I log on here this morning and it's just tragic story after sad, tragic story. I'm re-evaluating my priorities and taking a step back to realize, you know, I've got it pretty good.

And another thing...someone tell A&M that they are in the SEC now and they, in no way shape or form, should ever play at La. Tech again or they will have their SEC card pulled...

I drove home from Atlanta yesterday, and at one point had to consider stopping under an overpass because the rain was so heavy.  The thought of that left me with PTSD.

I feel ya.  I stepped out of my car this morning right into a 3" puddle of water.  My loafers may not make it.
