It’s already been made clear that rival college sports fans aren’t above physical violence, as a Kentucky and Louisville fan recently displayed by exchanging blows at a Dialysis Center prior to the Final Four.
Now it’s being reported that an Auburn fan was punched at a North Florida Whataburger for screaming “War Eagle!” repeatedly inside the fast-food restaurant.

A man standing in line at Whataburger at 2:20 in the morning was punched by two strangers after repeatedly chanting “War Eagle,” according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
A brief argument ensued in the wake of the chanting, after which two men each hit the victim near his left eye with a closed fist. The chanting man allegedly returned a punch. The assailants fled on foot.
On his way through the parking lot, one of the assailants hit another man in the face who was sitting on the hood of a car. This man was the brother of a woman who was with the first victim while he was chanting “War Eagle.”
The assailants left before taking their meals.
Given the location just south of the Alabama border, the assailants were probably Alabama or Florida fans. Call it a hunch but given their recent history, this smells like Crimson Tide criminals to us.
