Reed ready to provide spark for AU’s offense

Reed looks to be more explosive, for 2011.

Trovon Reed’s college career has consisted of one game, two rushes and eight yards.

The 6-foot, 188-pound receiver tweaked an MCL injury he suffered in high school during workouts last summer, rehabbed it to the point where he could get back on the field a little more than a month later against Clemson on Sept. 18.

Then he ran twice, something didn’t feel right, and Auburn coaches shut him down for the rest of the season, eventually applying for and receiving a medical redshirt for his abbreviated freshman campaign.

“I wasn’t healthy at all last year. My knee was bothering me the whole time,” Reed said. “But I felt like I should go, because it would be bothering me during the week, but when I get in front of 97,000, my adrenaline is rushing. So I don’t feel it during the games.”
