Darrion Hutcherson is Auburns fifth commitment for 2012
DADEVILLE—At the end of football season in November, Dadeville’s Darrion Hutcherson was far from a known commodity.
A physical specimen, sure, at 6-foot-7, 245 pounds, but hardly the type of prospect that was a lock to garner major college offers.
Then the Dadeville staff started sending out film so college coaches could see their junior tight end’s hands, how they were big enough to completely envelop a football.
They could see him blocking on screen plays, getting out into space and planting linebackers into the turf.
They could see his unusual speed for his size, quantified recently in a 4.7-second 40-yard dash at a camp in Leeds.
“Once they saw the film on him, they wanted more,” Tigers head coach Richard White said. “Word of mouth gets around. Next thing you know, we’re getting phone calls from everybody, 10, 12, 15 phone calls from coaches trying to get him to visit, to get film on him.

just wait...it's not over yet.
The biggest catch of Auburn’s Class of 2011 still is not entirely in the boat.
Two days after Cyrus Kouandjio — the five-star, top-rated tackle prospect in the country — committed to the Tigers on ESPNU, his letter of intent still hasn’t found its way to Auburn, Alabama, New Mexico, Iowa or anywhere else.
Kouandjio spent Thursday meeting with family members and his coach at DeMatha Catholic High, Bill McGregor.
McGregor told Rivals.com his star prospect’s choices are down to Auburn and Alabama. McGregor said Kouandjio spoke with Gene Chizik and other Tigers coaches Thursday, and that McGregor had spoken with Alabama’s staff, but he wasn’t sure if Kouandjio had.
McGregor said Kouandjio has not set a timetable on his decision.
“I think he’ll stick with Auburn actually, but I could be wrong,” McGregor told Rivals.com.

Florence started the day off right for the Tigers
Minutes after securing one of the nation’s best classes for the second year in a row Wednesday, Auburn coach Gene Chizik said he and the staff “scratched all the right itches” as far as recruiting needs.
But there’s still probably a bit of irritation in one spot the Tigers haven’t scratched yet.
Five-star tackle Cyrus Kouandjio, the consensus top tackle in the nation, staged one of the biggest coups of Signing Day by announcing his intention to sign with Auburn live on ESPNU.
The Tigers were late closers for Kouandjio, who seemed destined to join his brother, Arie, at Alabama, and his addition signaled the close of one of the best offensive line classes assembled in recent memory.
But, not long after his announcement, Kouandjio’s commitment to Auburn seemed a little less clear.
