Editor’s Note: This is the eighth in a series previewing Auburn’s 2010 football opponents. This week: LSU (Oct. 23). The series will run weekly.
Les Miles has won more games (51) in the past five years than any other coach in LSU history over the same amount of time.
He has a national championship ring on his finger and LSU boasts one of the best records against ranked opponents (13-11) among SEC schools since he took over for Nick Saban in 2005.
Despite all the accolades, which include a 51-14 record and four bowl victories in his first five seasons at LSU, Miles sits on the hottest seat in the SEC.

Yeah LSU...Good luck with that.
BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU has hired former Tigers quarterback Steve Ensminger as its new tight ends coach.
Ensminger, a Baton Rouge native, played for LSU from 1976-79. He threw for 2,770 yards and 16 touchdowns during his career with the Tigers. He fills a vacancy left by Don Yanowsky, who is now with Memphis.
Ensminger began his coaching career as an assistant at Nicholls State in 1982, followed by stops at McNeese State and Louisiana Tech.
Ensminger also has had stints in the Southeastern Conference as an assistant at Georgia (1991-93) and Auburn (2003-2008).

You never accept losing. You never proclaim moral victories. You never make excuses. You always take responsibility for your performance.
Auburn…
- But we’re going to break the rules. I just can’t get upset with this team right now. I did that enough after the LSU game. Our guys have busted their butts all year. It’s been a hell of a fight to turn the program back around. I wish I could go on another diatribe about Chizik’s future, but this rollercoaster of a season has silenced any opinions. Think about what we HAVE accomplished:

How the Auburn Tigers fare in Baton Rouge on Saturday night will depend on which Tiger offensive personality decides to show up.
Will the coldly confident executioners who gunned down West Virginia with relentless precision swagger in or will the frigid and insecure victims who failed to perform against Kentucky and Arkansas stumble out of the gate?
Unfortunately for Auburn fans, the most likely personality to appear is the latter. The defensive issues that plagued Auburn in two losses are unlikely to be significantly improved in a single week of practice.
In my SEC East preview, I said that the SEC Champion and Potential BCS Champion would come from the Eastern Division (if you didn’t read part 1 or have been in a coma for the last few weeks, it’s the Florida Gators). However, from top to bottom, the tougher division will likely be the Western Division, where all 3 of the top teams have a legitimate shot at facing Florida in the SEC championship game.
