Why Mike...Why?
Multiple media outlets are claiming that All-SEC RB Michael Dyer will not be participating in the Chick-fil-A Bowl game on December 31. Nothing has been reported as to the reasons why Dyer wont be eligible.
Rumors have it everywhere from grades to failed drug tests. In the end does it really matter why he won’t be playing. What matters is that one of the few stars on this team won’t be eligible to play.
Which leads me to ask what is going on with this team? Where is the leadership?
Has our quest for the National Championship clouded our judgment in taking people of character? Auburn Men? I’m not saying that Dyer isn’t an Auburn man, I am simply stating with all that has happened over the past year another suspension leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

That’s right bowls games are set and this year unfortunately won’t produce a National Championship trophy, heck it doesn’t even produce a New Years Day game, or in this case a day after New Years day game (since January 1 falls on a Sunday and everyone knows that belongs to the NFL). So Auburn will get to go to Atlanta but it will be to play Virginia in the Chik-fil-A Bowl.
So who are the Virgina Cavaliers?
They are an 8-4 team with a 5-3 ACC record. Their resume includes wins over, Georgia Tech, Miami, Maryland and Florida State. Their biggest losses coming at the hands of Virgina Tech and Southern Miss.
The game will mark Virginia’s fourth appearance in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (formerly the Peach Bowl). The Cavaliers played their first-ever bowl game in Atlanta on. Dec. 31 in 1984, defeating Purdue 27-24 to claim the Peach Bowl crown. Virginia defeated Georgia 34-27 in the 1995 Peach Bowl and lost to the Bulldogs 35-33 in the 1998 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

I think Georgia just scored again...
Auburn…
- You really think this is excusable? You think this is acceptable? You think Georgia just beat us?
- Georgia didn’t just beat us. I told a friend of mine that it’s wrong to say the final was 45-7. That wasn’t the final score. This game was over with 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. It was over. We were done.
- You say we have youth issues? Offensive linemen don’t have experience? Georgia has played the 2nd most true freshmen in the SEC, and they’re headed to the SEC championship game.
- You say our defense is still getting their footing? Obvious fundamentals and techniques not taught. Just not there. Commentators rarely make salient points about the actual game, but they were sure quick to point out some of the flaws in our defensive play – not scheme.

Dyer and the Tigers couldn't get anything going against Georgia this past Saturday
Your average football fan would look at Auburn’s homecoming matchup with Samford this weekend and see an easy win for the Tigers.
After watching his team’s 45-7 dismantling at the hands of Georgia on Saturday, Gene Chizik is not your average football fan.
“If you saw us play yesterday,” the Auburn head coach said, “we’re not supposed to beat anybody.”
The Tigers suffered their most lopsided loss in 15 years — the worst since 1946 to their oldest rival — and have now suffered two losses of 35 points or more in the same season for the first time since 1950.
The first blowout, a 45-10 loss to top-ranked LSU, was kind of understandable.
The second one, to then-No. 15 Georgia, was less so.
