Thank You, Texas A&M

Thank You, Texas A&M
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:04:18 AM »
Dear Texas A&M,

Thank you for renewing my interest in college football.  Your gutsy play led to one of the best upsets I've seen in football since Stanford beat USC in 2007.  Alabama truly is a national championship caliber team, and they played an incredible game.  Still, their best could not come up with the victory.  For the first time since the 2010 Auburn game, I watched Alabama play at their highest level and lose.

Despite a horrific game called by the officials except for the very end of the game, I really thought I was finished with college football.  Too much b.s. for me to continue watching.

But now balance is restored thanks to a Scooby-Doo wearing Lebanese kid named Johnny "I Should Win the Heisman Trophy" Manziel.

Sincerely,

Townhall

Not me. Love watching the kid perform but I can't enjoy college football in its present form with my team on a fucking ventilator.

Meh.  Fuck our team.  Seriously.  Worst football team I've ever seen play.

And I'm not going to let it bring down my fall Saturday afternoons.  The rest of college football is wide open, so instead of moping about the smegma that is Auburn football, I'm going to enjoy what I can.

I am with you, the way we are playing has taken the steam out of my season. I like college football when we are on the landscape not the shit in the fertilizer.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Hell I watched the ND and BC game switching between that one and TCU/KS game. All while AU was getting skull-fucked. Watch PM's face:

Another perk to living in Louisiana.

Instead of a semi-somber work day where half the office is depressed, and the other is walking on eggshells so as not to get on the wrong person's bad side, everyone here is elated. Every water cooler conversation is about how beautiful it is that the turds lost. The most crowded thoroughfare is right outside the one bammer here's office because everyone's stopping in to rub it in his face.

The Saints beating the Falcons for 11 out of the last 13 meetings and the last four in a row (fear the thumb) is not hurting the mood either.

Best of all, no one gives a diddly shit about Auburn. Not even on the radar. Makes denial so much easier.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
