Why do these fucks get special consideration is my gripe?  Let them roll the dice and have to play by the same rules as everyone else.

Unfortunately we have become more concerned about protecting the minority than making a stand for what is right.

We have done this to ourselves.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Speaking of jumping right in, where the phuk is GarMan?

I'm sure he will appreciate being missed.  His job has kept him busy 22 hours a day for a while dealing with his offshore Indians and dimwits in Detroit and Toronto; he barely has time for a cocktail and cigar on Sunday afternoons.  But, I'm sure he'll be back soon.

A mosque...where this occurred:

Yeah, there's got to be some local zoning ordinance against that, yes?

How dare you show those images.
Besides everybody knows Bush had those buildings blown up.  The religion of peace and harmony would never do such a thing.

I log this under the ole "You have a right to say anything, but don't be surprised if it gets your ass whipped" category.

They have a legal right to build it, doesn't mean the people have to accept it, legally or non-legally.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I like your sentiment there CCT.  I'd say that they have a right to worship as they see fit but they don't necessarily have a 'right' to build their mosque there:

Here's a link to a legal challenge that has been filed by the ACLJ:

http://www.aclj.org/media/pdf/ACLJ_EXECUTED-PETITION_20100804.pdf

Here's the short story:

Quote
Lawsuit Filed Challenging Ground Zero Mosque

We have filed a lawsuit today against the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) at the Supreme Court of the State of New York urging the court to nullify a decision yesterday by LPC - a decision that denies landmark status to a historic building clearing the way for an Islamic mosque to be built on the site.

We represent Tim Brown, a firefighter and first responder, who survived the 9-11 attacks but lost 100 friends that day.

The lawsuit charges that the city violated its own policies and procedures in rejecting landmark status and exhibited "an arbitrary and capricious abuse of discretion and contrary to decades of administrative precedent."

What's clear is that this legal challenge points out the fact that the city did not follow its own rules and procedures in this case.

The deliberative process was tainted and violated procedural safeguards that have been in place for years.
...

Don't know how far that will get but it exposes the dirty politics of the roaches that would approve a new mosque to be built yet find fault with rebuilding a Christian church.

this goes right along with AUTiger's post on Harry Reid. It seems there are two issues Reid disagrees with Obama on.

This is my deal.  I see where Sweets is coming from and agree completely that you cannot pick and choose what parts of the constitution you like or when they should be enforced.  However it should be a non-issue.

There is a Greek orthodox church that has been trying to go into the same neighborhood for the last few years and is continually turned down in zoning because their building is too large.  ( I think the code states it cannot be taller than the  twin towers monument)

Why do these phuks get special consideration is my gripe?  Let them roll the dice and have to play by the same rules as everyone else.

If they are dumb enough to put a mosque there then oh phuking well to what happens to them.  Unfortunately we have become more concerned about protecting the minority than making a stand for what is right.

We have done this to ourselves.

Probably true.  As much as I despise his politics 99.9% of the time he might well be sincere on this position so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt since he broke ranks with The ONE and Pelosi.
