New West Virginia recruit Onterrio McCalebb knew about the Mountaineers' 21st Century offense before he arrived here on Saturday.
However, seeing is believing and after just one half, the lightning-quick (4.4) all-purpose back was sold on the Gold and Blue during the 48-7 whipping of East Carolina.
He told lead recruiter Rod Smith earlier today and then reconfirmed his commitment to the 5th-ranked Mountaineers (4-0).
"I had seen West Virginia play, but I didn't know that many people would get the ball," said the 5-foot-10, 165-pound 3-star from Fort Meade, Fla. 
McCalebb, coached by Mike Hayde at the tiny Florida school, tore off a 90-yard touchdown run himself on Thursday night. He pulled a hamstring enroute but finished in the end zone anyway.
Rutgers, which along with WVU, Georgia, Auburn and Clemson, has offered the speedster, scouted the game.
One of the things that charmed the tailback-slotback on his short visit to the University City was meeting with true freshmen Noel Devine (North Fort Myers) and Jock Sanders (St. Petersburg).
The three spent Saturday bonding.
Devine, Sanders and McCalebb could be the pieces that keep West Virginia's vaunted rushing attack in the years to come. All-American Steve Slaton is a junior. So, too, is Pat White, the Mountaineers' second Heisman candidate in 2007.
"We'll have fun. They're gonna be my teammates," Onterrio said.
WVU continues pursuing super back prospect Carlton Thomas, who will face McCalebb and Fort Meade later this season.
WVU played perhaps its most complete game in the seven-year Rod era before 60,021 at Milan Puskar Stadium, which included McCalebb, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.'s Ernest Ferguson and Pittsburgh Gateway stars Shayne Hale and [db]Cameron Saddler[/db].
Ferguson, a linebacker, virtually committed to the Mountaineers by phone prior to his weekend visit. He left the staff with word he was going to consider WVU's offer against those, thus far, of Iowa State, Ole Miss and North Carolina.
Hale and Saddler were not immediately available on Sunday.
White completed 18 of 20 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns to [db]Darius Reynaud. Nine Mountaineers got rushing chances, including Sanders (3 carries, 15 yards) and Devine (7-11).
Meanwhile, an equal number (9) were involved in the passing game. First time starter Brandon Hogan, another true freshman, caught six balls for 44 yards, D-Rey clamped on five for 54 and Slaton pulled in 3 for 42.
Wide receivers Dorrell Jalloh, Tito Gonzales, Eddie Davis and Wes Lyons were all involved in blocking for the run game.
Speaking of Davis, he is the Mountaineer who most matches McCalebb's size and speed. Devine and Sanders are shorter in stature.
McCalebb is the third Floridian to pledge to the '08 class, which becomes official in February. Earlier, super back Jahleel Addae and cornerback Jerome Swinton made their promises to WVU.
The class now stands at 15 commitments
If Coach Rod had stayed at WVU, he would've more than likely been a Mountaineer....alongside Noel Devine and Jock Sanders (that's what you'd call having retarded team speed).
BTW, Onterrio switched his commitment to Auburn on January 14th.
