Ok those of you with Netflix can stream it.  The rest of you will just have to pirate it.  If you like the movies or books at all you need to watch this.

Dr Watson is played by Martin Freeman. aka Authur Dent from the remake of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

This is an outstanding series.

Martin Freeman is also playing Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit.  And the actor playing Sherlock is doing the voice of Smaug, as well as providing the body movements (similar to how they used an actor to play Gollum).

There are only three on netflix.  The other three have to be stolet.  There are three more coming out in 2013.

Yep, season 1 was only three episodes.  Season 2, also three episodes, aired in the UK in early Jan.  BBC America won't air until June/July.

Tim from the original Office. Far superior at fourth wall-breaking reactions than Jim Halpert could ever dream.

Also the sidekick in the Ali G movie.

This is a smartly-written, performed, and filmed TV show (unlike the majority of the dreck on TV today).

Very cool.  I look forward to seeing "The Hobbit" even more now.  As a sidebar, I cannot help but notice how the actor playing Sherlock Holmes sounds uncannily like Alan Rickman at times.

Agreed, but for some reason, I'm having a hard time getting through the second episode of the 2nd season.

And here is Dr Watson's "blog"

http://www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk/

Not sure if it would spoil season 2, so you've been warned.

I have not gotten that far yet so I'll abstain for now; thanks for the warning.
