How many points can I realistically expect to gain on my LSAT score if I REALLY REALLY try with the Kaplan program?
A buddy of mine gave me a practice LSAT to take, and I scored a 151. I figure that's okay, but if I could raise it ten points, that'd be the shit.
I know I've gone back and forth with this idea to go to law school, but I think I'd definitely go if I could get into a school like...coughcoughalabamacoughcough.

I would say take the Testmaster's course if possible. I took it before I took the LSAT back when I was considering going to law school and it raised my LSAT score. They only hire people that make 180s for the class and they show you how to ace it. I heard the Kaplan course was pretty much a bunch of bullshit. You def need to raise that score up if you want to go to UA school of law.

Substantially as in ten points? 20 points? 25 points? 29 points?

I took a Kaplan weekend course and it raised my score 15 points from the practice test. If I had taken the full course (Isn't it 12 or 13 weeks?) I think it could only have been higher.
If you're serious about the LSAT then I say take the course, you need to get out of the 150's.

Have you taken one like this?

Yep.
Except it was the 2007 test.
I followed the time limits precisely. Didn't cheat or take a break or anything.
Is it weird that I enjoyed answering questions like that? But then again, I was ready to gouge my eyes out by the fourth section.

Exactly what sweetheart said, my score went from meh pre-kaplan to Yay after kaplan.

The best part of the LSAT was the games section IMO. I destroyed those sections, pretty sure I got every one right. I would say the best prep you could do is take a logic course somewhere and practice the games. Once you learn the different setups to the games they're pretty easy. I think the biggest difference in the testmasters and the kaplan course was that kaplan made up their questions whereas testmasters uses old LSAT tests. Take either class and they will show you how to do the games, but I think it would be pretty hard to master all of the different types or logic reasoning in a weekend course.

I didn't realize you needed any higher to get in?
