Dear Brett -
I have scripted the end of your career. You will throw a game-killing interception in the league championship game. It will be your fault. Your team will lose. Your last pass will be a pick.
Come back or don't. That's your destiny.
Your pal,
God
-
God is funny.
-
He NEEDS to walk away at this point.

I always liked Favre until he turned drama queen. I said before the season began that I hoped he threw 0 TDs and 300 INTs. It didn't happen, but I'm not so sure that this isn't better.

I echo this....karma is a bitch.

I like Bret. He has EARNED the right to be whatever he wants. He is one of the best ever. he played a helluva game. His interception at the end more than likely did not change the outcome. They were out of FG range and with the shitty blocking he was getting, probably would have just turned it over on downs anyway. The real problem wiht that drive was the shitty play calling after they got the first down and then the coaching. 12 men in the huddle, please.
Up till that point, Bret had played one helluva game. Peterson needs to have his nuts slapped, hard. and then there was Harvin and Berriman who fumbled. This game was lost by others. I would still take Bret over Brees and I like Brees a lot. To be Bret's age and play like he did this season, screw anyone who can't admire that.

You turn it over 5 times you don't deserve to win any game. See Dallas vs Minnesota last week. Exact opposite happened.
I like Favre from a gutsy, on the field perspective. Like RWS, I just don't dig the prima donna act. I liked him up until about 2 years ago.

Thank you for saving me the typing. I was amazed at how well Farve played last night considering he was getting his ass POUNDED INTO THE GROUND on every play. The blocking was horrendously shitty. Even an age 20-something QB is gonna have a hard time shaking that off. He did a great job and has nothing to be ashamed of. AD has a lot to apologize for - HOLD ON TO the damn football and all of the rest of a moot point.

While I agree that Adrian Peterson needs to hold on to the ball, he also scored 3 touchdowns. Peterson > Bush.

I still stand by my opinion that Bush is overrated and is a flop.

Not to mention Favre turned it over 3 times.....

I didn't see Favre fumble the ball. And neither interception was a game killer. The last int was not the issue. It was poor game management to put him in a position that he felt he had to force the ball. They were out of FG range.
The fumbles by Peterson and Harvin were game killers. One at the Saints 6 yd line. This game was not lost on that last int. It was lost by Peterson, Harvin, and Berriman. Favre did his job. Did he pull out another miracle? No. But that wasn't his fault. The Vikes ran circles around the Saints. Fumbles kill a team.

.....unless he threw a TD pass the play after the INT. You can't seriously say that Favre didn't have a part in that debacle, but then throw the blame on everybody else's fumbles, game management, etc. I mean, it goes both ways. If Favre didn't throw those INTs, maybe they would have scored on the next play. If he didn't throw those INTs and they scored, maybe it wouldn't have thrown a kink in the game management plan. Maybe if he didn't throw those INTs, he wouldn't have been in a position to force the ball. He's just as much at fault as the others.
-
true.
One thing also to remember: Bush handed the Vikes a TD as well with that gaffe

But two plays later, Peterson fumbles and gives the ball back to the Saints on the 10. That was sure points had Peterson been paying attention to the ball.
The Vikes outplayed the Saints and were the better team. Unfortunately, a few of the Vikes took a mental day off. That is why they play the games.

I see now that you have removed Favre's penis from your mouth the oxygen is properly flowing in the blood to your brain.
-
These days I don't care too much one way or the other for Favre either, but I agree that his last pick wasn't the main reason for the loss. Yeah, timing of the mistakes is huge, and the timing of that pick was bad. But the only reason he's throwing the ball at all is because of 12 men in the huddle. That is actually a screw up equal to the pick because it put them into a pass play, which they wouldn't have done otherwise.
I also agree that the fumbles cost them more as well (in the overall scheme of things). And RWS, don't bother taking Saban out of your mouth to imply I'm sucking Favre....again, I don't care one way or the other, it's just my opinion on the game.

Well, you didn't come across as "LEAVE BRETT FAVRE ALOOOONE!!" anyway, so.....

That was Favre's fault. Peterson never got the hand off and it is the QB's responsibility to put the ball in the RB's pocket. That is football 101...

Dude, you don't know shit about football if you believe that. Peterson closed his hands BEFORE the ball had a chance to get into his gut. THAT IS THE RB's RESPONSIBILITY. And that my friend is part of COACHING 101.

In other Brett Favre drama related news, he is undecided whether he will come back for next season. He did say, however, that it wouldn't take him as long to make a decision this time.

Wonder if he ever bought that tv from Sears?

And the media will be all over this with his penis in their mouth the whole time. Lets make his head bigger why dont we.

Favre the gunslinger is a great analogy. Unlike most spaghetti westerns (which I love), the gunslinger rarely rides off intact and victorious. It's more like the end of Shane: riding off slumped over the horse, shot, dying, and young people calling for you to come back. That's Favre.

Whatever man. The ball never got put in the pocket. The RB's responsibility is to keep his eyes down field. The QB's responsibility is to put the ball in his pocket. Look at Favre's reaction after the play. He knew he fucker up. He didn't get over to AP to get him the ball...
I am not a Favre basher. I was one of the only ones that said on here that I love him coming back. I wanted Favre to win that game...and I don't like the Vikings. But Favre fucked that play up...I think he would probably admit to that...
-
Favre's last pass as a Packer? An INT in the playoffs that cost them the game.
Favre's last pass as a Jet? An INT that cost them the game and a chance at the playoffs.
Favre's (possibly) last pass as a Viking? ...
Irony. It's a bitch.
However, that loss was a total team effort.
And I have decided that I have a severe dislike of Brad Childress and his nasty bald head/beard combo. He looks like a cheezy used car salesman or something - anything other than an NFL coach. I just do not care for his sideline attitude or too much of anything about him, really. That Janet Jackson partial headset thing is pretty damn lame too.
-
Favre could learn a thing or two from Kurt Warner.

ARE YOU BLIND? Did you not see the replay? AP closed his hands before the ball had a chance to get in the pocket. THAT is an error on the RB, not the QB. That is the first thing taught to an RB. Wait till you feel the ball in your gut before you clamp down. AP wanted to change directions so he grabbed for the ball. That is a no-no. Sheesh.
And Favre was not mad that he screwed up. He was sick that they missed that opportunity.

Kurt Warner exemplifies class 100%.
Ever read the story of when he met his wife? Great read.

He's holding a press conference tomorrow to announce his retirement or decision to go at it one more year. IMO, based on the way he played this year, he could probably eke out another productive year for the Cards. I think his only hold up is having the game (injuries, etc.) jeopardize his family life.

I really like Kurt. From his professional life to his personal life. People started giving him and his wife a hard time back in the Rams days because of his profession of faith. He has backed off a little, but still exemplifies what a man should be. I too feel like he has another year. He is spot on mentally. If his body can hold up and he can keep a few more healthy WRs, he might just make one more run at it. It is clear that Leinart is nowhere near the talent at this point.

Leinart has the talent. Something is really wrong with that boy upstairs. I dont think it ever gets fixed.

This thread started with a message from God informing Brett Favre that his last play as a professional had been scripted. No matter how many times he tries to come back, this will be the result.
But that was pages ago.

If Kurt retires, this hit is probably part of the reason.

Didnt catch who it was who laid that block , but it could have been carried out effectively enough without going to that extent. Kurt's a good dude. Hate to see that happen to him.
