Uhm, please feel free to learn how to block for at least one game of your career before you talk shit to the opponents, Tommy. I realize you've made catches in TWO consecutive games now, but you need to take a lap for talking that shit.

I agree with the blocking and catching comments, Trott is one of the more overrated players in a long time...but I don't think that's really shit talking. He's not saying they Alabama is overrated or that Auburn is "going to win" for sure.
He says it would be nice to knock them off while they are undefeated and that it's gonna be exciting. I don't see much wrong with that really. I want the team to at least think they can win.

I just want to know one thing, what do you expect them to say? "We suck and they are better than us. We don't deserve to be on the same field and don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence? I don't have a problem with either comment personally. Would much rather have them say something that shows they have some confidence than something that shows me they don't believe in their abilities.
I also didn't have a problem with Tate saying this either, what they didn't show on TV

I don't think he said anything ridiculous or too out there. Are our chances against bama slim? fuck yes, and I'm pretty sure slim is out of town the day after Thanksgiving. But it has been done...against all odds it's been done. That's why it's called an UPSET. I don't know about the rest of you but I sure as shit don't want my Auburn Tigers walking out there already beaten. I'm glad he gives a shit, I'm glad he's talking shit. I hope they ALL talk shit before it's over.

Exactly. I never got upset about CTT holding up 7 fingers walking into BDS in last year's Iron Bowl. AU had owned us, so they could certainly talk some smack. Its just a matter of he didn't back it up, and in a big way. Same deal with our S&C coach Scott Chochran saying that UGA was wearing black for their own funeral. Personally, my asshole cringed when I heard that because I was just like "Oh, fuck me....". He didn't know that there was a camera rolling on him, and there is a difference in saying it to get your team pumped and saying it in an interview or something. But we backed that up in a big way as well.
This rivalry is all about talking some shit. Your ass just better be able to cash it when it comes time to play is all.

The way I read where he says its easy to prepare for...is that it won't be difficult to get excited for this game and to play full out....because what do we have to lose?

I dont really think Tommy was talking smack but what Mr. Davie Douche was showing during last Sat. game from a partial quote of Tate is a little different. Now granted they did not show everything, but the part they did show has a little poop talk flavor to it. Personally I think Tate is better than Ingram but Im biased. It dont bother me when folks talk that smack, but its when one doesnt back it up that makes him look foolish.

This is what I was saying too. Sure, Auburn talking shit to Alabama this year makes no sense....but that's the point, I don't really see where Trott did that.
Again, at what point was he disrespectful of Alabama in his comments? You can't really "talk shit" if you don't even get in some basic insults and disrespect.

I'm realistic enough to understand we're probably going to be double digit dogs by game time...and deservedly so. But, I also know an upset is possible after attending the greatest game ever played...1989 Iron Bowl. Almost the exact same circumstances with Bama coming in unscathed at #2. Upsets happen.
If you want to look for some positives. You can compare some common opponents and while some don't look too dang skippy, there are a few that tell you Auburn is definitely capable of staying in this game til the end. Auburn handled UT far better than Bama did. Auburn also took care of Ole Miss in fine fashion and biotch slapped MSU the same way Bama did.
It's not a lot to hang on to but it tells you anything is possible. Trott knows that if they come out firing on all cylinders and Bama makes some mistakes, Auburn has a chance. Last year, they had none.

Rory Sabitini can say "I'm gonna win every major this year"...that would be "full of shit".
He could also say "Tiger wishes he could drive the ball like me...he's going down this year"...that's "talking shit".
One makes someone look foolish, the other offends someone and becomes "bulletin board material".
I just don't take Trott's comments to be in the latter category. Not even too much in the first category either. To me, just like the wise Birdman said, Trott knows this Auburn team could pull off an upset. (emphasis on upset). I don't think he has to have "lost his mind" to think such a thing.

That's hardly talking shit. "We'd love nothing more..." "Upset them..." "...exciting opportunity..." It's a statement that clearly acknowldges what the team is up against, and exactly what I'd expect a competitor to say about a game where they go in as a big underdog.
Ben Tate? Was/IS having a great season, especially when you consider the "gimmicky HS offense" we run, and with no blocking from the busts like Ziemba and Pugh and Trott. It's amazing he ever ran for 100 yards total, much less averaged 100 plus per game for 10 games. ***tounge firmly in cheek*** Then he went and opened his idiotic mouth! Jeez Ben...IF you are the best, you don't have to tell people, they just fuckin' know it! SHUT THE FUCK UP BEN!
