Nope, it went pretty much the way everybody thought it would. No reason to get overly excited about it. Either way, I still think we're gonna fuck Arky up. Will know a little better after tonight.

For the record I didn't think we'd cover the spread (because of the weather). Also, BDS apparently drains very well.

With as much as our offense just prefers to eat away at the clock, I figured we would score 35 and hold them to a shutout. I figured playing alot of 2nd and 3rd teamers would also contribute to that score of 35-0 as well. Offense did a little better than I thought with Star Jackson. I can see CNS' point that they need to figure out some way to get him the ball on offense. He is pretty damn quick. All in all, a good warmup for Arky, and gave alot of our starters some time to rest. They should come out full of piss and vinegar next Saturday.

We let Cox get a 284 QB rating. McElroy will have a 500 QB rating. Ingram and Richardson will run for 200 yards combined. Seriously, Bama would have hung 70 on our D tonight.
On the other hand...
Mallett sure is fun to watch. He set a single game school yardage record (408) and tied the single game TD record (5) in his first full start as a Hog (he only played 5 series in the opener). He had no INT's, but did have a lost fumble after he took a helmet-to-helmet shot which the refs did not call. Our O-line only gave up 2 sacks on 41 called pass plays which is a big improvement over last year (we gave up 46 last year in 12 games...we never had to pass block under Colonel Nutt so there was a steep learning curve). Arkansas doesn't have a household name at WR like Julio Jones, but if you watched Childs, Wright and Adams vs. UGA, they are pretty darn good (so if TE DJ Williams).
Mallett will give Ricky fits. I predict another broken table.

Before you think "Well, Alabama has only played one good team and two scrubs", this is the same defense from last year minus two starters. This defense is even better than last year. UGA doesn't have much on defense, and the only thing they have on offense is AJ Green. Their QB is horrible, and the running game isn't great either. They were able to hang 52 points on your defense. That shit isn't going to get fixed in a week. The way our offense is built, we are going to run it down your throats, and we're going to take our time doing it. Its all about ball control. If our offense has the ball, that means Mallett isn't on the field.
Also, like I have been saying this whole time, Arkansas has nobody except Mallett. Nothing, not on either side of the ball. I don't know if we saw the same game, but even UGA receivers that didn't have the last name Green were straight up making Arky DBs look bad.

I am looking forward to the games this year but I do not want any problems. Whenever I go to an away game or a visiting team comes into Tuscaloosa to play Alabama I make it a point to get a few things cleared up before the game starts.
First off, you guys are playing The University of Alabama. We are not some 2nd rate team from some backwards conference. Alabama is among the elite. The best. A tradition that goes back a long way. National Championships, many bowl wins, SEC Championships, high national rankings, etc. The list goes on. With that resume comes respect. The kind of respect that can only be earned. The Alabama fans carry that respect whether we are at home or on the road and a few things need to be understood. When Alabama comes to town you are seeing one of the movers and shakers in all of college football and the fans are no exception.
First, there will NOT be any yelling in my ear during the game. I darn well don't plan on driving all that distance to your stadium to have some guy yell in my ear. I will ask you one time to stop and no more. I don't mind clapping but this incessant yelling is out. If you continue then I will take a physical solution that you will not like. I will NEVER provoke but if you guys think that yelling in my ear is gonna be tolerated you are in for a big surprise. Same thing for the kids. Sure, they can be there but keep them out of my area and keep them quiet. If you cannot control the kids then you will be held responsible and I will take matters into my own hand. We don't put up with that crap in Tuscaloosa and we darn well aren't gonna drive all that distance to your place and put up with it.
If I have to go to the restroom I don't wait in line, I go to the front. This is an area where I have encountered some problems before so I am just making it clear now. It's a root problem. They believe that if everything is right in the universe, they should win any game they play. I'm not gonna lie, going 114-18-1 in the SEC over a 20 year span (1960-1979) will do that to you. You win so much that it's naturally expected, and when it doesn't happen, there simply must be some good excuse (bad calls by officials, injuries, bum coach, etc). It can't be that another team or program is superior, but something must have interrupted the natural order of things and it's merely a temporary mirage until things return to the norm.
Problem is, and the reason that attitude is so irritating, is that we're 30 years past that era of domination that Alabama experienced. The "norm" Alabama fans expect has been gone a lot longer than it was ever here.
The way Alabama fans act today, in 2009, you would never guess that Auburn leads Alabama in the last 30 years (16-13 since 1980).
