I was just wondering if anyone pulled for any non SEC teams. When AU is not playing I'll try and catch Texas Tech games if possible. They usually give a pretty good offensive show. Plus, Leach is a always good for some prime entertainment. What say you?

I pull for my alma mater - North Alabama, Troy (I worked there for five years), and I've always been a Nebraska fan.

If I wasn't an Auburn fan I'd be a Wolverine. Rich Rodriguez is the devil. I wish, wish, wish, wish, wish he'd taken the Alabama job and I hadn't made fun of his ugly ass schnauzer of a wife.
Also like Southern Miss and they're closer.

Usually pull for the underdogs like Boise State and to some extent, Hawaii. My best friend of many years is a Nole' graduate so we wind up catching an FSU football and basketball game every year.

Army and Georgia Tech.

Southern Miss and South Florida. Leavitt is fun to watch during a game. I swear he is going to stroke out at any minute. Plus I like the work he has done with that program. I have much respect for Bower, felt like they pushed him out, but still like to see USM win when they are not playing Auburn. Same with USF.
I am now curious to see and pulling somewhat for GT....I think Paul Johnson is a hell of a coach and his offense (to me) is fun to watch.

Yeah, not to be unoriginal, but I have always liked Meechegan. Great fight song.
Also Texas Tech, because they manage to beat either TX or OK every year and fuck up someone's season... nice. I love bringing up the Red Raiders to some of the horned moo cows I work with and watching their heads explode. Will find myself rooting for OK against Texas, but could care less.
Va Tech - I like Beemer Ball.
Have always liked Cal too - not sure why - maybe because I hate USC and UCLA.
Penn State - got a soft spot for JoePa.
Teams I would never pull for under any circumstances UNLESS they were playing bammer:
U of Sucky California
Notre Dame
FSU (HATE all things Bowden, goldangit)
Texas and most all of the Big 12 - for obvious reasons.

I have pulled for Michigan since I sat amongst their fans at the 1984 Sugar Bowl. Almost everyone around was extremely nice and gracious even in defeat. Plus, I love their fight song.

I was/am a big Fresno fan too - especially when David Carr was their QB. To my credit, I thought he was a good QB while I watched them play - THEN he took off his helmet... and he became my favorite college QB of all time... :tongue:
Too bad the lack of an OL when he was with the Texans made him a flinching sack magnet. What a waste of a decent QB. They ruined him.

i too like to see Herbie's head spin around when the EPSN paradigm shifts out of control, and their gameplan for annointing the year's champeen gets shot all to hell. They manipulate perception to make themselves look like experts - too bad for them the games still have to be played and coaches don't gameplan based on what Herbie and May and Corso and Holtzth opine.
I will usually jump on the anti-ESPN bandwagon too. This year, I am afraid they will be honking the FL bobo and blowing Tim Tebow at every opportunity... that is gonna get OLD... especially if LSU and The Hat have anything to say about it, and I think they still have to play that game too... assholes.

Not quite old enough to have the hatred for Texas that the older generation has. Not a fan by any imagination, but I've always hated the aggies worse, going back to Jackie Sherrill. My brother's college roommate was a GA and then the strength & conditioning coach there for a couple years back in the mid '80's. Sherrill acted like a total ass to my brother one time while there to visit.

That seems pretty silly. I guess when your mascot is the bulldog, you have to try to come up with something to stand out from the rest.
BTW, why does every other school on God's green earth pick the bulldog as its mascot. It's so bad, in NW Arkansas they have two high schools, Fayetteville and Springdale, not more than 20 miles apart, with the same stupid mascot. They go by Red Bulldogs and Purple Bulldogs. You'd think somebody could come up with something better.
