Season's first upset? Auburn's Chizik talks tougher than Alabama's Nick Saban
Posted by Birmingham News August 25, 2009 7:52 AM

Auburn's Gene Chizik and Alabama's Nick Saban. (News files)
Is it the season's first upset? Birmingham News columnists Ray Melick and Kevin Scarbinsky review the tough talking Gene Chizik and milder Nick Saban, after both an Auburn and an Alabama player are arrested.

In this One-Minute Madness video webcast, the two agree, the tone and message from the coach is important when it's unknown what's going on behind the scenes.
On discipline, Chizik talks tougher than Saban[/quote]

Uhhhh....ok? As Prowler would say, this is a good example of little brother syndrome showing itself. For Alabama to be as shitty as some AU fans say, some of you sure do use us as a measuring stick quite often.

Well make fucking sense next time. Chad didn't say shit about Auburn being better or camparing the two coaches. He posted a video article. That's it. He posts articles negative as well as positive towards Auburn all the time.

As I said, get the fuck over yourself...

Boo fucking hoo.

This is the bammerham news's Scarbinski and Melick. Melick is extreme bammer, Scab is middle-of-the-road.

They are discussing how Chizik has handled his run-in with the law better than Saban did.

There's no need to cry about it, and no one here is going to console you.

But yeah, I guess posting this for discussion shows how badly I long to be a bammer fan...

Only since he's felt a need to justify Chizik. I don't seem to remember his reporting skills last season. Personally, I don't give a shit if Chizik "talks tougher" than Saban. I don't care if Saban "talks tougher" than Chizik. It isn't a popularity contest. The better coach will show it on the field. And for the record, I can't remember Chizad posting anything negative about AU and then agreeing with it. Well, except for when Chizik was first hired. It was the next Hindenburg then. Now? Greatest hire EVAR. Amusing.

For the millionth time, if you don't like what I have to say, put my ass on ignore. Pouty McPoutster.

My reporting skills? WTF are you talking about?

I posted a link to a Bammerham News article.

I have posted links to articles for discussion since before this site's inception.

Get ahold of yourself, man...

It's hilarious how deeply it pinches a nerve to dare question Saban's perfection, let alone when compared to Auburn's coach...

You might want to mention that to the State Media.

It simply shows how badly you long to justify your savior. As does every article you post. Personally, I don't think he handled it all that different. He gave a very vague punishment. It reminds me of when I think we sat somebody out of maybe the UT game in '07? After the game somebody asked why the player didn't play, and Saban replied that the player had actually been suspended. I forget who the player was. But some of you guys jumped all over it as "Oh yeah, he was only 'suspended' after the fact since they didn't have to play him...thats why they never announced his upcoming suspension." Kinda the same deal here. If AU is gonna need him, then oh, he did what he had to do to earn his PT back. If AU doesn't need him? Oh yeah, he's still suspended. Hardass. I think thats why you never heard "he is suspended indefinitely" or "he is suspended X amount of games", or anything else specific or clear. Just a very vague "well, when you see him again that means he did what he has to do." You can say he handled it better, but its a matter of perspective. In the grand scheme of things, though? Football season kicks off Sept 3rd.

Saban isn't perfect by any means. I'm not even going to argue that, I will merely take it as you putting words in my mouth. He's an asshole, but he's our asshole, and he gets results. Now, if you want to get into comparing the two as head coaches, then I won't even get into that. Save yourself the embarassment here.

What the fuck is your point here?   Who's justifying anything?  Who's called Chizik a savior???  Chizad posted a fucking article written by OTHER writers in Birmingham!?

scissors, you been hanging around any of those AUC terds? I like to call them "the sensitives". They cry about anything you post...

Btw - j/k. I would never call you that, don't know you good enough yet.  ;)

I don't read too much into this article. Melick and Scarbo are like PF in a smaller way. They like to elicit a response and will take advantage of anything out of the norm (the recent arrests) to do it. Look below the article at the comments. Bama fans were PISSED about this article. Good news sells, Bad news OR Controversy sells even more. As soon as they get us Aubies on their side and eating out of their hand, they will turn the tables and bring out a scathing write up on Auburn and how we did Tubs wrong or something. It's all about readers and ratings. They just like to stir the pot is all. Watch the trend, especially with PF and KS. They swing like a pendulum. Some call it selective pandering. I take everything they say with a grain of salt. Just my .02.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, the premise of this article is blatant bammerism to begin with...

It's an "upset" that Saban wouldn't be as hard a disciplinarian in a comparable situation?

Give me a break. DJ Hall's halftime pardon, Fanney, Upchurch, Deadrick, Johnson, the list goes on...

To steal a play from your book:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=crimson+tide (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=crimson+tide)
Quote
1.    crimson tide

A woman's period. Often used in the phrase "riding the crimson tide" -- which can mean "having one's period" or "having sex with a woman who has her period"
