Ok. I can't fucking stand it anymore. It hit me yesterday and I'm fucking ready. I can smell football in the air. I want to strap on a helmet and fucking hit someone! I'm stoked. I'm pumped about Auburn football and the fact that there is a CHANCE to do something good this year. We got the talent. We have experience in some positions. We got good solid raw talent at other positions. Right now, we ar 0-0 and the SEC West is just as good as fucking ours as any one elses. The fucking SEC is as much as our right as fucking the chosen Gators. Let's do this shit. Let's get it fucking on!!! I am fucking ready!!!
I will be at the LA Tech game. It may be the only game I see at Jordan Hare this year, although I am going to ARK and possibly LSU. Who's going to be there? I want to party with you fuckers! I want to watch Auburn give an ass whipping, then come back to tailgate and watch Alabama get skull fucked. Who is with me???
I got a Dish Network satellite that I used to use tailgating but I have no subscription anymore. if someone can bring a box, I can ship my dish to their house to set it up for a crystal clear picture of an Alabama ass whipping. Also, LSU starts at 9:30 at night so I will stay and tailgate all night watching football. Anyone up? I would have a full blown tailgate at my spot if a icould, but it's hard to coordinate coming in from TX on Friday.
Dude...I'm ready...

Count me in.

I will make this game and the Ole Miss.
Don't think I'll get much sleep the night before my flight.
-
If I can find somebody to go with me, I will be there. My pops backed out on me, and it would be too late to take little man with me.
-
Your little man is detachable? That's amazing.
As for this game of which you speak? You're all aware that Gene Chizik is still coach, right?

Say what you want about Kaos' convictions but he's accurate if nothing at all.

Never heard of him.

I m taking mine to his first Auburn game. He is 5. He is a little behind, but it is hard to get back sometimes. I know my parents have tickets too, so I am hoping if he gets tired and is ready to go home, his grandmother will take him and let me get my drink on somewhere on campus!!!

Kaos likes to sing the same song over and over and over doesn't he? Good thing its an accurate song though. The same song isnt so bad when its a good un. Just sayin....

You don't fucking no if it's a good one or not. You or Kaos have no clue...
It's why they play the game on the field...

Tis true Cubby. And its also why I drink too much beer and eat too much sausage several hours before kickoff. Damn, Im glad I dont know what the future holds. Wouldnt be near as fun would it?

Just got off the phone with the Auburn athletic department. Apparently Gene Chizik is STILL the head football coach and Jay Jacobs is STILL athletic director. More on this as it develops.

LA Tech worries me more than some of my Auburn acquaintances. They return 17 starters from a team that beat Mississippi State. Before you discount that remember we beat MSU 3-2 and set football back 10 years in the process.
I think Auburn will win the opener, but not by double digit margin.
-
We will bitch slap the Techsters. Remember, we had Chris Todd at QB for the MSU game last year and....
Wait...what?

They also have a coach with something to prove.
I, too, am more worried about La Tech than many. But that's just my natural sunny disposition.
-

Now that was pretty damn funny.
-
I would be more worried about LaTech if we were playing them in the third or fourth game of the season, because it would be considered somewhat of a "look ahead" game, and those worry me every year. I agree though, Auburn isn't going to win by double digits, I'll be happy if we beat them by 7 and escape injuries.

If you think AU won't beat La Tech by double digits, how in the hell do you figure they are going to walk in to Red Stick at 7-0 or 6-1?

First game of the season, dumbass. There will be turnovers, penalties...etc. Plus I think LaTech is better than MSU, Ball State, Kentucky and possibly Tennessee.

And this is the state of Auburn football??
Please ask me again about the unicorns and rainbows. Please.
-
Say it with me... ONE AT A TIME
Prowler is the one that made the assertion that AU would be 7-0 or 6-1 heading into the LSU game, not me. Now, I'm simply wondering how he arrived at that, now knowing he thinks AU won't beat La Tech by double digits.
-
And this is the state of Auburn football??
Please ask me again about the unicorns and rainbows. Please.
And you think LaTech is bad?? If so, you're seriously delusional.
-

I see you are already setting up a line of bullshit, juuuuuuuust in case. Already making a case that La Tech is better than 2-3 SEC teams on your schedule. Nice. If you really believe what you just said, I don't want to hear a word about how Alabama got lucky and beat a shitty Va Tech team if we do win our opener. I don't want to hear anything ever again about Alabama beating a shitty Clemson team in our '08 opener either.
-
I think LaTech Kentucky and possibly Tennessee.
MSU and Ball State, you've got a point.
Kentucky isn't the Kentucky you remember, Prowler. Keep looking ahead and they'll bitch slap us.
Tennesee? They've got a ton of talented recruits. Kiffin whipped Chizik and Co. like little bitches in recruiting this year. They're quietly piling up talent now while everybody spooges over Saban and Meyer.
Kiffin may be a doofus but haven't you preached incessantly that it doesn't matter who the head coach is, it's the assistants that tell the tale? Saban, Meyer, Richt, Paterno, Osborne, Dye, Bryant, Bowden (sr.), Hayes, Schembechler, Dooley, Johnson, Switzer, Royal and about three dozen others laugh in your face at that supposition, but let's presume there's some validity there for the moment... Tennessee's assistant coaches stack up with anybody in the SEC. Kiffin has a hot, hot, hot wife and has assembled a quality coaching staff. Eddie Gran knows what to do with RBs and the UT rushing game will show significant -- major -- improvement. Enough to keep the pressure off their QB and allow him to grow into the role.
I hate Tennessee, but you're about as wrong as you can be -- which, Prowler, is pretty dingdang wrong -- about the Vols.
The two teams that have the potential to surprise this season and come out of nowhere like Ole Miss did? Tennessee and Arkansas.
-
And you think LaTech is bad?? If so, you're seriously delusional.
Are we talking about the same La Tech that, with the exception of the '08 season, has not had an 8-win season since 1999? Really? Shit, they may be better than Ball State and maybe equal with MSU, but I think you are poor mouthing your other examples.
-
And you think LaTech is bad?? If so, you're seriously delusional.
If you think that a world where Auburn should be legitimately worried about Louisiana Tech -- whether it be the first, third or last game -- is a world with good or rightness in it, well... I can't help you any more.
-
Kaos, you just listed a crap load of Head Coaches to try and prove a point that it's the Head Coaches that make the team and not their Assistants (which is completely wrong)....You do realize that Coach midget and Coach Tressel coached together at Syracuse right? Coach Richt coached under Coach Bowden (Sr.), Coach Dye, he coached under Coach Bryant. Hell, Coach Bryant supplied a few schools some HC off of his staff, not including Coach Dye. Go back and take a look at all of the coaches that coached under Coach Schnellenburger (sp?) and Coach Bowden.
As for Tennessee whipping Coach Chizik and Company in recruiting, unless they found a starting QB, a few Olinemen, a couple WRs and a couple Dlinemen, I think the SEC will be safe for a couple of years. While Coach Kiffin writes checks that his ass can't cash.
I know that Kentucky isn't the same Kentucky that they've been, neither is LaTech, kaos. Keep looking ahead and they'll fuck us in da mouf.
-

Sounds like you're getting you points ready. So that when Auburn beats LaTech by 7 points or so, you'll be ready to hit the "Post" button. LaTech is, apparently, better than you think they are kaos, and you used to be a coach....wait, you did say that you were a football coach once, right?
-
They will smoke La. Tech's collective ass. Get a grip people.

This is the dumbest reply you've ever made to a post of mine in the history of some shockingly dumb replies.
What difference does it make who the flocking flick they coached under?
I'd attempt to reply to the rest of it, but the raw idiocy made my eyes bleed.

Irrelevant. And stupid. Sincere congratulations on two consecutive brain-dead replies. Add a third and you'll get free membership in the Bama Alumni Association.

I have a hard time arguing against the idea of this being a "transition coach" for Auburn.
The thing is, when it's over, it'll be over for the whole lot in the Ath. Dept.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it will bring more transition.
-
I know that Kentucky isn't the same Kentucky that they've been, neither is LaTech, kaos. Keep looking ahead and they'll fuck us in da mouf.
Yes, they (La Tech) are. They happened to luck up and beat MSU, and they gave a shitty effort doing it. 15/41 passing for 161 yards and 82 rushing yards on 33 carries. Shit, ULM turned in about the same performance against AU last year and you guys stomped them into the ground.
In 2008, La Tech beat 4-8 MSU, 5-7 Southeastern Louisiana, 2-10 Idaho, 7-6 Fresno State, 6-6 San Jose State, 3-9 Utah State, 3-9 New Mexico St., and 6-7 Northern Illinois. And THAT was their best season in the past 9 years. How the fuck is that not the same ol' La Tech? They didn't beat MSU because they were that damn good, they beat MSU because MSU was just that bad.

Transition is good when it's positive.
I don't like Jay Jacobs, but I do think he thinks he's doing what's best for Auburn. And that's what makes him dangerous/destructive. Who am I to say that I, or anyone else for that matter, knows what is and what isn't Auburn. Jay played there, he got his degrees there, he's worked there all his working life. I have no doubt that he's dedicated to Auburn. But maybe because he hasn't been anywhere else he doesn't really understand what it is that makes Auburn unique and makes Auburn special.
I just know that I don't like the direction he has taken for the most part. I don't trust his judgment. Don't doubt the motivation, just don't like the results.

d) a and b, but not c;
e) a and c, but not b;
f) b and c, but not a; or

La Tech finished 107th in passing offense last year so f all the above.

Wow, you are one dumb motherfucker. You've stated, and you stated here, that it doesn't matter who the assistant coaches are only who the Head Coach is. Then you went on to list a long list of successful Head Coaches. So, I just took your post, flipped it, and shoved it back down your throat, because it actually shows that to be a great Head Coach you have to have great Assistants, when some of those coaches on your little list were Assistant coaches under the older Head Coaches on that list.
You still don't see what difference it makes, who they coached under??? If Coach A has 10 soon to be Head Coaches on his staff as Assistant Coaches....that would mean he has some successful Assistant Coaches on his staff, and that would prove my point and the right point, that a Head Coach is only as good as his Assistant Coaches.
But, yeah, whenever someone destroys your little whiny post, I guess it makes it easy to reply back with...."my eyes are bleeding, blah, blah, blah...."

Prowler happened to mention in another thread that AU would be 7-0 or 6-1 going into the LSU game. However, in this thread, he mentioned that AU would not win this game by double digits and he would be happy with a 7 point spread and no injuries. I asked him how in the holy hell he expects a single-digit margin against La Tech, but still expects AU to have the aforementioned record going into LSU. Prowler contends that La Tech is a better team than alot of people give them credit for, and the only thing he has to show for that is La Tech beat MSU in their opener last season and they have 17 returning seniors on the team. Other than that, he's shown no reason why they are supposedly a good team. My point is AU should stomp these fuckers into the ground, at least, the Auburn football I have come to know and hate the past six years should.
My argument is two-pronged. My first point is that AU should beat the piss out of La Tech. There is no reason not to. My second point is La Tech is not as good as Prowler suggests, and that he is only greatly lowering the bar so that anything beyond his explanation is a bonus. I don't know how you can possibly look at the past decade of Auburn football, and then pray to God that you beat La Tech. So far, he hasn't provided any counterpoint to my argument, so I'm pretty sure I'm spot on at this point.
-

You did nothing of the sort.
Those head coaches I listed were not successful ONLY when they had people who became head coaches under them.
Your "point" was ridiculous.
If you seriously think Dye, Meyer, Bryant, Paterno, Bowden, Dooley, etc. were successful only because of the assistants they hired ,you're way,way flucking dumber than I ever thought you were.
Good head coaches make good assistants. That's the way it works. But you keep on roiling in the dumbassity. I'll just point and laugh.

"Good head coaches make good assistants"...you do realize that, that statement can easily be flipped around, right? If you don't believe me, how did Coach Bowden fare after Coach Richt left? How did Coach Tuberville fare after Coach Petrino left, before he hired Coach Borges? How did Coach Spurrier fare after Coach Stoops left?
If you think that Assistant Coaches don't matter, then what would happen to a Head Coach if most or some of his assistants weren't that good, and he decided to not make a change? Keep laughing clown
