Auburn recruiters using limo

You've gotta love this: Auburn coaches are pulling out all the stops in their efforts to land the best young talent in the state of Alabama. The newest tool: a white, stretch limo with the Auburn logo on the doors, and orange and blue flags flapping in the breeze. The first theater for battle is the city of Mobile. The war cry -- not War [expletive] Eagle, in this case, although somebody likely stood up and shouted that out of the sun roof -- is "that Mobile's a battleground, and we're all here to stake our claim," according to what Davidson High football coach Fred Riley told ESPN. The limo has already been by his school.

I think we need a few more limo topics. Could someone report on the flavors of water available?  And I really want to know who farted first (and who laughed).

The number of topics is sizeable. Who are you trying to convince?

I'll take this...

It's not that anyone is trying to convince anyone else, but it is pointing out that EVERYONE in the state of Alabama is talking about this. EVERYONE. Kaos, even you have to admit that THAT is great for recruiting purposes.

Saban has been an after thought this week. And since he has been hired, how many days can you say that???

Everyone...quick question.  What's uat coaches doing?  I've heard about Coach Smart and another uat assistant out on the Evaluation trail, only because they decided to show up, at two High Schools, to try and break up the "Tiger Prowl", that was it.  So, I guess no one should post articles from other sites that speaks positives about Auburn on this message board, huh Kaos???  It sounds, to me, like there are a couple of fans here that don't want to see anything positive going on at Auburn, since the Head Coach there is Coach Gene Chizik and that's just something that they're going to have to get over.  Because, with the type of coaching staff that Coach Chizik has put together, there's a really good chance that there will be more positive news coming out of Auburn.

I said it didn't make me sick.  What else do you want?

The plethora of topics does seem to be trying just a bit too hard, though.

What are the Bama coaches doing??  Are you serious? Coaches can not talk to recruits right now. Bama coaches are to busy putting together another #1 recruiting class, while the barns ass clown coaches are playing circle jerk around the state! :taunt: :taunt:

The point, dumbass, is that it's Auburn getting most of the publicity and during the Spring Evaluation Period at that.  That was the point of the whole limo idea, to create the buzz.  Hearing some of the Auburn coaches' remarks...even they didn't realize that the publicity would be Nationwide.  They definately made some noise, more noise than they were expecting to make.  Either way...It's All Good

How will the desperation tour 2009 make us look in a few months when we have taken a huge number of losses during actual play? Being talked about in April rarely signs anyone after the footballs fly in the fall.
I hope this gimmicky stunt does not hurt us when this bunch and their clown car tour are regulated to the dust bins of history.
Auburn does not need gimmicks to sign recruits...... they will line up to come play for a real coach and his staff.
