The new Obama S-CHIP (SHIT) taxes go into affect on April 1st. Cigar prices are going up. Don't forget to place your orders prior to Wednesday.

Cigars and cigarettes should be illegal. They are costing the medical system in this country way too much money. People can't seem to quit smoking them despite the fact they know of the tremendously elevated cancer risks. It's like nicotine is a powerful and addictive drug or something.
I hope that obama does the right things and makes them illegal. It is for the good of society.

Actually, I think we're lucking out so far. I heard that some of the cigar shops are charging more, but the online outlets seem to be holding their prices, even though they've posted notes about potential increases with the new SCHIP tax. Some of the manufacturers, distributors and retailers are eating the tax right now. The comment that I read in an e-mail from one online retailer said that they would continue to share the burden of the new tax as long as his suppliers kept their prices low. Works for me!

The Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement is already paying billions to the states for healthcare...more than enough by the way...but your point is taken.
Of course, there have been no reputable studies involving adverse health affects of cigars, and lumping cigars in with cigarettes is just foolish. Using some of that brilliant moderator "logic" that was used against me in that other thread, all I need to do is bring up George Burns to refute any potential adverse affects of cigars. As we know, George smoked 10-15 Churchill sized cigars every day of his life and lived to the ripe old age of 100. I'm only at 2-3 each day, so I guess that I need man-up and increase my cigar consumption.

I read somewhere that they were cheap cigars too (sorry I don't have a source reference for that bit of trivial information).

More power to you. I have never understood why people smoke cigarettes with them tasting like shit and everything. Pot I can understand, the flavor and the buzz are much better. Cigarette addiction is kinda sad in my book. People get hooked because it is cool or whatever and it is much more addictive than pot.
Not knocking people that smoke, because I'm a whatever floats your boat, as long as it doesn't hurt others, kinda guy. I have just never got it. It taste like shit, makes your clothes and house smell rancid, etc.
