MIAMI (SP) -- Shortly after leading the Florida Gators to a national championship with a 24-14 win over Oklahoma, junior quarterback Tim Tebow announced that he would skip his senior season and ascend directly into heaven.
Tebow entered the press room to wild applause. A reporter for a 24-hour cable sports network burst into tears when the 2007 Heisman winner entered the room. Another threw a pair of boxer shorts on the podium. Tebow smiled at the gesture and several sports reporters fainted. "Sorry I'm late," Tebow began. "There was a six-year-old boy with cancer in row 54 and I had to make my way through the crowd to heal him."
"I want to start by saying that playing quarterback for the University of Florida, winning two national championships, has been a great honor. There has been some speculation about my future and I want to clear that up right now," he continued. "Don't go, Tim!" a reporter shouted from the back of the room.
"After much consideration, I have decided to skip my senior season at the University of Florida and ascend directly into Heaven," Tebow announced. Upon making the announcement, Tebow was bathed in a blinding white light and vanished.
In response to the news, ESPN announced they will have a month-long tribute to Tebow. ESPN2 will now be known as ESPN-TEBOW and will feature Tebow highlights (including home videos of Tebow's childhood), re-airings of past interviews, Tebow-centric analysis by ESPN air personalities, a Tebow quiz show and a reality show to find the "most Tebow-like" person in America.
"He wasn't just the greatest player in college football history," said a college football writer at the press conference, tears streaming down his face. "He might have been the greatest person to ever walk on earth."
  I've heard that the NFL people were projecting Tim Tebow as a 3rd-4th Round pick.

Are you joking, or did you not read the article? Serious question.

Had to be a joke  unless heaven is fielding a team?

Yeah, that just wouldn't be fair.

Anyone see the Tebow sayings from fans that ESPN was running last night? The same type of thing as the "Young Chuck Norris" bit. Probably some of the same ones.
"What color is Tebow's blood?
"Trick question...Tebow doesn't bleed."

i thought i was gonna cromit during the game when the announcers said "if you have the privelage to be around Tebow for 5-20 minutes, you would be a better person for it"
i was like are you fucking serious? really? and you know, i'm sure Tebow motivates his team and is a leader and blah blah blah but it gets old seeing him prance around yelling and screaming and then jumping into the defensive/special teams huddles on the sideline and trying to "pump them up" CONSTANTLY. at some point, its just screaming "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME I'M TEBOW!!!" :puke: aside from that, worst announcers ever for a MNCG

You can't argue with the results and I'm assuming that if the coaches thought it was hurting the team they'd make him stop.

The guy is a leader with a Heisman and and two BCS championships, but you want to criticize him for pumping up the defense? Yeah, you make a lot of sense. :taunt: Ever think that the defensive guys don't mind it and think more of him that he would get in there with them instead of go sitting on the bench by himself when the defense takes the field? I think some people call what he does being a part of the team.
All the Tebow hype used to get on my nerves, but I was mistakingly holding that against Tebow. He is a great football player that apparently has his head screwed on right. It is the media that has overexposed the heck out of that, making him out to be a saint. It may be because when it comes to news about college football players' off-field activities, they are usually being more like a Jimmy Johns type of hobby rather then something positive. Tebow can't control what the media does, but he just needs to keep doing what he is doing and he will be fine, which is better then getting his name in the paper for selling crack, busting out windshields, or punching a law enforcement figure.

I have to say..spot on!!! I'm not a UF fan or a big Tebow fan. However, the guy's just doing his thing and his thing is becoming one of the greatest college players of all time. 1 Heisman...2 National Titles...Crazy stats. He has ZERO control over the media and you almost can't blame the media for overhyping him. Why not? What else should they be focusing on? USC?

Tebow is against this thread, we must stop it or die!

You're right....I'm sorry Mr. Tim Tebow, I didn't mean anything bad by starting the thread, I was just joking. I'll give myself 10 Lashings. BTW, Mr. Tebow, the NFL stands for Not For Long Unless You're Tim Tebow.

He's staying. If he couldn't make heaven's team in the first round he decided not to go.

Yeah, that just wouldn't be fair.
You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?
