Title: Christmas and New Year Plans???
Post by: Snaggletiger on December 22, 2008, 04:02:06 PM
What's up with everyone's plans this year?  Christmas at the Birdman's will be low key, getting stuff set for the kids and eating way too much at the in-laws.  Our best friends have a house down at St. George Island outside Appalachicola.  We're gonna hit that for New Year's and get mighty drunk, if I have anything to do with it.

Plans?  Randall?

New Years on St. George is a good time.  Nothing to do but drink.

Not much planned here.  Party at some friends' house, crash in spare bedroom.  This night is always overhyped and underperforms.

If I've got plans, it's a great time.  If not, I'm ready for bed at 10:00 standing at my front doorway hollering, "Stop poppin' off your damn fireworks ya' little hellions.  People gotta' sleep around here ya' know."

I hope you don't forget to shake your fist at the whippersnappers.

Christmas - Figuring out how to make both sets of in-laws happy.  Knowing that it'll never happen, I want to say screw it and stay home all day.

New Years - I'm sure we'll have plans with friends that everyone is excited about.  The only two New Years I ever enjoyed was last year (bowl game) and 2000 (spent the night in the basement while wearing a protective suit).

Most of the time, New Years is just another night going out.  I can drink at The Rare Martini any day of the week.

Uh...the protective suit evening needs some explanation.

I'm guessing he was preparing for Y2K.

Oh yeah - Christmas we are going down to see the family.  New Years, I think we're staying around B'ham, probably going out somewhere.

Oh, I'd forgotten all the hoopla over that shit.

Still, the question remains: why was the night in the protective suit one of only two NYEs he's ever enjoyed?

Emergency flesh-light?

Anal beads?

Still, one of the best NYE's ever was AU/Penn State in Tampa.  It rained like  mo-fo the next day...wettest I've ever been.  Took a piss in my pancho right there in my seat.  Didn't matter...a freakin' flood was pouring over us for hours.  But, the night before was worth the trip.  Don't even recall where we went but there was a great band, good food, stupid hats and lots of liquor..and I got laid.

Good times and I have pics to prove it.

Make sure to blast some Marilyn Manson with the windows rolled down.

Pack a trenchcoat, it'll be chilly out there.

You will be stalking on what I'm sure are some of the best grounds in this State for killing God's creatures.

I still wake up sometimes in a cold sweat, mumbling incoherently about Bowden not running the fucking ball.

Low key holidays. The oldest is in from Afghanistan for a few weeks so it is good to have all of the kids home. Just enjoying the whole family being here. As you get older and kids move on, it gets to be a rare and special occasion when all are present.

May all of you have the peace and joy that the Christmas season brings.
