Title: Super Bowl
Post by: Snaggletiger on February 10, 2025, 09:57:06 AM
I always watch, no matter what.  It's must see TV for me, from the pregame to the anthem, the game itself, commercials, and yes, halftime.

Can't think of a game where the two participants meant less to me.  At no time in my life have I ever pulled for either of those teams in any way shape or form. I imagine most have KC fatigue with them being in so many Super Bowls, Mahomes, Kelce and Reid being in almost as many commercials as Saban, and of course, Taylor Swift.

Philly?  I think anybody who pays attention would agree universally that they have the most vile, disgusting, sub-human fans on the planet.  Can't pull for them in tiddlywinks.

Suffice it to say, I had no interest in a winner.  But, it's the Super Bowl, and I'm watching. Turned out to be a pretty crappy game, unless you're a Eggsles fan.  Guess I was okay with them winning, just to stop all the KC love.

Commercials were pretty entertaining.  And then there was halftime. My Lawt!

I have to admit that it seems each and every year, we tend to say this was the worst show ever.  Rhianna was one of my least favorites last year, but at least I was familiar with most of her songs.  Kendrick Lamar?  Hands down the biggest pile of garbage halftime show in history.

I scanned the social medias last night to see if was alone.  I wasn't.  Those that defended the performance all made the same attempt to justify it. "If you hated it, you're just old and white."  Well yes, I am old and white.  But, how could I even try to find something redeeming in it, when I literally could not understand one word that came out of his mouth? That sentiment was the consensus.

I knew it was going to be hit or miss, because I admit, I knew nothing about him or his music going in.  But I tried to keep an open mind.  All I saw was a hundred people hopping around in their pajamas, and all I heard was wibby dibby blippy flibby shibby wappa bloppa dabba doo. Every single song.  Wait, I take all that back.  I did hear him say "Turn off the TV" a bunch of times on his last song.  That should have been his opener. I would have taken his advice.

Guess I'm just white, and old.

Was bored early Saturday morning and found myself looking to see what stories the legacy media were pushing and the one that grabbed me allegedly took place in Ohio where a half dozen or so armed Nazi's had hung a banner over an interstate. No idea of the message but the Nazi's were last seen fleeing in a twenty foot Uhaul truck while being pelted by rocks. Then the scene turns into a roadside prayer vigil which grew in vast numbers from the outset of the threat.  Pretty entertaining stuff.
Then yesterday I saw the Snoopdog/Brady commercial about racial hate and then the Kendrick Lamar halftime rapstravaganza.  It occurred to me that what's missing here is a mostly black musical similar to our beloved Grease. Aside from dancing Nazi's I think it could be a useful tool to put a bow on the longstanding gangsta culture that simply won't die without a catalyst.
Discuss.

I watched all but the last 8 minutes of the game when KC did most of its scoring.
Pffft.

There are no "nazis"  It's a deep state/democrat psyop.

Super Bowl?

Ha. I had a Super Bowl. A Super Bowl of nachos.

It is funny reading all of the enlightened explanations of the halftime show in which most people seem to have heard no words to any of the songs.

Yeah I can picture one of those really animated signing dudes dancing beside Lamar. Might have a better chance of understanding the message.
Initially wasn't sure about Samuel L's part in it all but afterwards he did comment that he was honored plus there had to be a sizable check involved.

I saw one person say if you didn’t get it, it wasn’t for you.

So the Super Bowl half time show is only for black folks now?

Nothing at all. I was just under the impression that white folks like a good halftime show also.

The NFL turned the halftime over to Jay-Z.  This is all we're going to get for the foreseeable future.

I honestly just don't like KL's music. Never did before, and don't now. Just not my cup of tea. But the yungz have determined I am a bitter old boomer at the ripe age of 47 that just doesn't understand that type of music - even though we were in HS during the golden age of gangster rap and grunge - but O. K.  Whatever helps them craft their copium filled diatribes on the socials.

Again, I have not watched professional sports since they kneeled and left me.
But I do read up on the happenings.
And this one may spell the demise of the halftime show.

But who am I kidding. The lapdogs ran right back to it after they were punked by the sport. So I suppose this too shall be swallowed.

I did not watch one single min of the game or show. Still haven't. I wasn't interested in either team. But all those who said they wouldn't watch for the same reason, and ended up watching? You made it the most watched SB in history. Way to stick to your guns weaklings.

As I said in the first line of the OP, I always watch.  Always will, as long as my old, white ass is still kicking.

I saw where an estimated 133 million watched this year's SB, but truth be known, we would have watched whether the halftime performers were Kenny Lamar, Kenny Chesney, or Kenny Rogers...and he's been dead for a while.

Those who thought KL's performance was fiiiiiire, said we old, white people didn't get the message he was sending about how the government and America have been lying to, and oppressing black people. Plus, he buried Drake in their feud.

Those who hated his show are saying, we couldn't understand a word he was saying, we just want to be entertained and not told how racist we all are, and we don't give a hot gawt damn about two rappers feuding.

Again, good Lord willing, I'll watch it next year, and probably complain about the halftime show.

You’re an butthole.

Btdubbs - same number of people watched Michael Jackson’s halftime show as this years. The Country and the world both had half the amount of audience then too. Js.

Put me in charge of the halftime show.  I guarantee it would be entertaining.

As long as Jay-Z does it, we are going to get stuff that doesn't relate to the majority of the viewing audience.
