Title: XFL Do over
Post by: Kaos on August 22, 2019, 10:07:55 AM
Team locations and names announced.

Eight teams pulling players from NFL cut lists.  In the middle of the al.com story unveiling the locations and logos, guess what you'll find?

https://www.al.com/sports/2019/08/xfl-reveals-team-names-awaits-nfl-cuts.html (https://www.al.com/sports/2019/08/xfl-reveals-team-names-awaits-nfl-cuts.html)

A heart-warming story about the 443rd resurrection of NFL great Trent Richardson's career.  You know, the same Richardson who looked like chunky sludge for the dregs of the AAF's Birmingham Iron. There is at least one consolation, though.  As long as the same fools that paid him to play at Bama are supporting him and funding these continuous futile attempts to play football he's not drawing welfare checks.  Because a year or two away from this goofy pursuit, that's exactly where he'd be.  He and his family would return to the same abject poverty from which they came and where they subsist on peanut butter and day old bread. Except for the days when they get paid to sign jerseys at T-Town Tom's.

I will be far less interested in this league if some recycled dud like Richardson is on a roster.

These constant attempts to revive these B Leagues are ridiculous.  They're novelty for about 2 weeks and then nobody gives a rip.  I would much rather watch a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday MAC game where countless dozens are huddled up in freezing temps to watch Bowling Green take on Toledo.  (I have no clue if either of those are in the MAC)

Here's what I liken this XFLAAFNFL to.  I was watching the ESPINS the other day and on the little scroll at the bottom it said, "WNBA announces All Star Game reserves."

I knew at that moment that if I had any interest in that particular subject, it might be time to put the revolver in my mouth because life is basically over.

This^^^

It will fail because it failed before, no one gives a fuck.  My suggestion (that I still think would fail) would be to have teams only draft players from the surrounding areas.  At least then you might have some interest from College fans who are watching Joe "couldn't make it in the NFL but hes a bammer" Smith

By these rules, the B'ham team would kick arse.

That is exactly what the Alliance did?
