Joseph Goodman (al.com hack) absolutely scorches Auburn and Gus.
https://www.al.com/auburnfootball/2018/11/auburn-chooses-not-to-hold-gus-malzahn-accountable.html
Forget this season, Auburn fans. Scrub it from your memories.
With their coach entrenched for another season, Auburn fans can now sit back and enjoy their two biggest games of the year without even having to worry about how those outcomes might affect Malzahn’s job status. They’re all thrilled, I’m sure.
Remember when rivalry week used to mean something?
“He’ll be the coach next year, and I’m confident that he’s going to — he’s already proven that we can get through adversity," Greene said.
Spoken like a guy who has never been on the wrong end of 49-0 loss in the Iron Bowl.
If by “adversity†Greene means losing to LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee, and then salvaging the season with wins against Ole Miss and Texas A&M, then, yes, Malzahn made it through the fire of an imploding season.
With this public endorsement, though, Malzahn doesn’t even have to sweat the biggest games of the year. It’s like he’s getting a pass for an underperforming season.

This guy has a distinct odor of inbred bulldog because nobody is even mentioning Malzahn at the present but UGA fans.

That stat alone indicates we have no earthly idea what adjustments mean beyond tugging at our crotch.

It also means we might keep this interesting for a minute or two, but the beat down will commence early and continue. Sugar, we're going down swinging.

Get some stops, hold them to a field goal and throw any and everything we got at 'em. We might get some traction out of the ground game for one score and throw for a couple.
Maybe Davidson blocks a punt or Tutt picks one off, twirlyCox etc.
Their defense isn't Arandalike but they do have a home crowd.
We are without a ground game to eat clock but I expect better than Kentucky gained on them. We need it to make RPOs legit instead of trying to force into coverage that's 6 deep.
I don't think they're as good overall as they were a year ago either.

They aren't, you are correct. We don't have the RPO threat. No one believes it when Stidham flails a fake pass after the reach around handoff. And I know he ran some last year. Ain't doing it this year unless it's to escape the rush that's coming every play.
We can probably score some but I don't think our D will hold up against their offense. They are on fire right now. We are too but in a bad way.

How much did Greene have in the contract negation of Gus? I read what he said and thought nothing of it. Most AD's usually give their coach a vote of confidence weather they fire the or not.

He had none. Poor guy is between a rock and a bigger rock. I wonder if he knew this job would make or break him!

^^^This right here is what Greene may be about to experience for the first time. Not that I think FUGA or Bama will put a 49 point ass kicking on us. But if they handle us easily and we look the way we have in so many games this year, including 482/515ths of the A&M game, the heat is on like Glenn Frey.

Two bottoms stand out for me after Dye.
One involved the bungling of the handoff to Oliver. But the epic beatdown was Tuberville v. Saban.
That was the worst in my estimation.

We’re you passed out during the Chins last 6 games?

Hell, I wish I would have been.
I miss the old sailor. Where did he go off to?
-
I just listened to a handful of Jay G. Tate and Brian Matthews podcasts and they went scorched earth on Gus' bullshit. They are out there for free if you care to intake yourself. The Auburn Sports podcast.

I was during one of them.

I thought the final result more shameful than the weekly unravelling that I was experiencing as a fan.

Pod casts. I thought that’s what the Japanese used to catch whales.

Odd combo. Jay G has always been a smarmy negative Nancy to me. Matthews was Phillip Marshall level homer one time.

Matthews is worn out by the coach-speak, never say anything, no substantive solutions from Gus.
Jay G. Tate is still Jay G. Tate.
