I would much rather see a rail system inserted into highways that is electrified. Your car inserts a rod into the rail and voila it takes you to your destination you then disengage the rail and exit the highway. Why can't we do that?

My guess is that the infrastructure upgrade cost for millions of miles of road would be prohibitive. That said, I have no idea how they're going to regulate traffic flow with a shitload of drones buzzing about.
