Title: Spelling Bee
Post by: Kaos on May 31, 2018, 10:12:45 AM
I know ESPN covers this every year but this is boring.

And how come white people can't spell?  There's like one white chick who looks like an overaged imposter, one nervous little white boy, a couple of Asians, and a stage full of Indians.  How did  that get taken over?

Where is THAT border?

Can you use that in a sentence?

What do you mean by that?

This is really horrible.

The Indian from Birmingham has already been bounced from the stage.

The really odd white girl from Huntsville knew the word right off but still stood up there and asked for language of origin, use in a sentence, origins, and all that stuff.  If you know the word? Spell the thing and stop looking all goofy.

Finally?  If you haven't heard Marisa Langley spell?  You're missing out.

She is.  Her dad owns a chain of convenience stores in the area.

White people.  Can't jump. Can't spell.

The past 13 champions and 18 of the last 22 have been Indian-American, and that trend could easily continue. Most of the consensus favorites in this year's bee also have Indian heritage.  What explains this extraordinary success by a group that makes up less than one percent of America's school-age population?
No one of Indian origin has ever played in any professional sports league: American football, baseball, basketball, or ice hockey.

Explain this to me.  Why?

Parental emphasis, mostly.  American dads want their kids to be the next Tiger/Serena and Indian parents are mortified when their kids aren't doctors (MULTIPLE STEREOTYPE ALERT).

Actually, ancient astronaut theorists believe that some races have been genetically modified by aliens in order to fit certain job descriptions

Ex: Chinese man=mathematician, India dude=hotel owner, WT=porn star

Take it up with the nine or ten news organizations that reported that.

You’d just think it was fake news, anyway.
Besides, if you saw an Indian at
a sporting event, I’m pretty sure you’d shoot at them. I know cctau would. Especially if they had the war paint on.

This was the original statement by Kaos...I simply provided the names of players with Indian origins in each of the sports. I never claimed they were HOFers and the original statement never said anything about HOF members. Kaos was wrong yet again.
"No one of Indian origin has ever played in any professional sports league: American football, baseball, basketball, or ice hockey."

Not my quote you numb monkey hump.
Took it directly from an article about Indians dominating spelling bees.  I actually copied and pasted that sentence as evidenced by the different font and size.   I read several articles during the bee that all said essentially the same thing.
Indians don't care about and aren't good at sports, but they can spell their butts off because that's what they practice.  One article equated taking 1000 ground balls in baseball practice with spelling 1000 words to prep for a bee.
The fact that you found some guy who never did squid or squat on a roster, doesn't change the premise.
But thanks for squandering that much of your time.

"Read several articles". Blame the article that you COPIED AND PASTED (GH2001) after I prove that it was fake news...Typical.
