I like my UnderArmour stuff. But the company is floundering around at the moment. As much as I like their stuff, it's been a while since they put out anything new that really liked.
CNN -- in typical form -- blames the struggles UnderArmour is currently facing on the CEO's decision to be a part of President Trump's business board.
WRONG!
The troubles are in part because UA bet on Steph Curry being their Michael Jordan. Curry's a good player, but he's not marketable like Jordan was. His shoes suck. They also tried a limited marketing thing with Cam, but never really embraced it or him like I thought they would.
The second part of that equation isn't that the CEO joined Trump's initiative, but that he chickenshitted out and issued pandering pussified statements for doing so. Rather than backing the president, he's continued to back Curry who's shown nothing but disdain for Trump and the office.
Look at this from CNN:
After Trump was reluctant to criticize neo-Nazis at a white supremacist rally, he then bashed Curry for not wanting to visit the White House and attacked athletes who protested the national anthem. Under Armour has come to the defense of its star endorsers.
But that hasn't been enough to rejuvenate Under Armour's flagging sales or stock price.
I like my UA stuff, but I'm not inclined to buy from a company that supports that kind of shit.
How can CNN -- and Underarmour -- be so fucking stupid that it can't see that "defending the star endorsers" is exactly what's hurting sales?
-
Because they are more scared of being labeled racists than they are of losing money due to their mind boggling strategy of backing their racist athlete spokespeople.
-
They might want to take a page from the NFL's complete bungling of the protests. The athletes are getting free gear from you. The fans actually buy the gear and pay the bills.

You just think that way because you are a racist.

You shut up or I'll give you a black eye. Wait....I mean I'll hit you so hard in the orbital area that there will be discoloration in the skin and tissue that surrounds the eye socket.

Been telling you this for a few years.
From a quality/performance standpoint they are the worst out there other than probably reebok. And when I say that I mean their core business of performance apparel. Not the polos or sideline shoes. Their shirts and shorts are total crap.
I liked them at first 10-12 years ago. They were different. But as far as maturing as a company they've lost the uniqueness that got them there. Now Nike has dryfit which is worlds better. Esp to athletes. If underarmor was guilty of anything it was not being able to hold onto the market share they built through that unique product - which was building performance based apparel to keep athletes cool or warm depending on the weather.

I've had some Under Armor gear over the years but generally, I don't like their stuff, especially the way it wears. It really accentuates my killer set of man-boobs.
-
Their shoes are teh suck generally, but I do have one pair I love. Their workout clothes are good, but Nike is better still. Now, with Adidas trending upward in the US, UA is going down the hill fast. Don't even get me started on the way Toughskins has taken UA to the cleaners either.
-
I have some AU polos I have gotten as gifts over the years. But I generally stay away from their stuff.
The only product I historically swear by is there cold gear for hunting.
But you can now get some knockoff stuff from Wally world or Khol's that is just about as good.

Their penis warmers are nice but they run small.

Under Armour deal has decreased significantly
CODY MCCLURE | 4 HOURS AGO
Auburn’s 10-year apparel deal with Under Armour that included $10 million in shares has apparently lost more than 75 percent of its value in just two years, according to a report from AL.com.
When the deal was made in October 2015, Under Armour shares were trading for over $100 a share. As of Thursday evening, they were trading for just $11.78 per share.
So, what’s the value for Auburn now?
Just around $2.3 million, according to estimates from the report.
“Even factoring in Under Armour’s stock split in April 2016, that’s a significant loss of value for Auburn,†it stated.
“It’s a 10-year deal so I’m not real concerned about it,†Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs told AL.com back in February when the stock was dropping. “We’re not using it for our budgeting. It was just a great way for Under Armour to step up and do more for us and we appreciate it.
“So we look forward to the day that we cash in because even though it’s half (of what it was worth), it’s more than we had.â€
The Under Armour deal reportedly runs through June 2025.

The problem with UA is not only quality but hell they priced themselves away from the common man.
$80 for a polo...ummm no thanks.
$55 for cotton shorts ...ummm no thanks.
$25 for a pair of socks that you have to stretch out 7 ways to sunday...ummm no thanks.
This is crap you buy at Dick's Sporting Goods.

So far, I’ve been able to differentiate nook’s cankles and my penis.
I’m not saying that a day won’t come where I do not know the difference. But thankfully, it’s not today, at least so far.

I've never really cared for their product. If they go belly up, I guess Auburn will be sponsored by Nike or Adidas?

Yep
Their quality went down. Their price went up. That's like the stagflation....or something.
