Got the official Game Day Bitches text from GF. :woot:
Just finished up a little yard work and poured up an IPA. Flipping channels to catch up on the early action.
The Wildcats of UK are whipping Mizzou at half, 21-7. Why would anyone care? Because Kentucky could be tied for the East lead after today. Seriously?
In other wildlife news, the Wolverines are gutting Sparty 27-10 at the half. MSU hasn't forced one punt today.
Tom Herman....he's so hot right now.....Tom Herman. Not! Countless dozens watching UCF slap the Cougars around 21-3 at halftime.
Also, Okie State is handling undefeated WVU right now.

My guess is LSU.

South Carolina takes down UT? WHAT?!?!
-
My guess is LSU.
Heard Texas but that seems maybe premature evacuation?

I was happy to see Auburn's defense make the needed adjustments at halftime...Chad Kelly was picking the defense a part, we'll he still picked them a part in the 2nd half, but not on the scoreboard where it mattered.
Auburn player rushing yards in a game:
1. Curtis Kuykendall 307yds
2. Tre Mason 304yds
3. Bo Jackson 290yds
4. Bo Jackson 256yds
5. Joe Cribbs 250yds
6. Rudi Johnson 249yds
7. Stephen Davis 246yds
8. Bo Jackson 242yds
9. Bo Jackson 240yds
10. Kamyrn Pettway 236yds
11. James Brooks 226yds

All I know, someone is going to pick up one of the best coaches in college football when they sign Les Miles. A Head Coach with a 141-55 record doesn't come around that often, especially when there isn't any known baggage.

Sean White made a believer out of me. He got lit up a few times, popped up each time, then threw some nice passes. The dude is like lead, very malleable.

We need him to run but we are sunk without him which is my worry. He can get some openings off of the twenty fake reverses that seem part of our offense now. He just doesn't protect himself so well at the end of those runs. Like the fact that he's tough, just don't want him lame as well.

Clemson finds a way to stay undefeated on the road. They're not that good but they get it done some how.

Yeah Virginia had Louisville and Jackson dead to rights but he, like Watson, found a way to win.

Thankfully we have the "Bruiser" to eat clock or we wake up in a different mood this morning.
-
Guess what we did last night. Go ahead, guess. You'll never get it right, but give it a shot. You give up?
We threw a pass to the tight end.
For a touchdown. GTFOH!!!
-
And one other observation from last night's college foosballz action and post game pressers....Jimbo Fisher is officially a bitch.

What did he say? I missed the end of that one.

Dalvin Cook had a long run called back on a chop block penalty. Questionable call, for sure as far as a chop block goes, but it was either a chop block or a hold. The Clemson defender ultimately went down because the FSU guy grabbed his foot and tripped him. Fisher went ballistic on the sidelines and got flagged, then in his presser, was whining like 3 year old.
It was ridiculous," Fisher said. "It was not a chop, it was a not chop. I will tell you what: You hold coaches accountable, you hold players accountable, hold the damn officials accountable. It is garbage, and then to call another penalty on the sideline is even more garbage. It's cowardly, gutless and wrong.
"They can take it, fine it, do whatever they want to do with that. That's a fact. Look at the film. It's ridiculous that they do that. That was a huge call in the game. Now, still had chances to win the game after that [but] that was ridiculous and the guy wasn't even in position to make the call."
-
Watching the replay. At the 10:50 mark of the third, the gay guy and Musberger are gushing over how awesome weekend at Ole Miss was and how it's the second largest crowd (50 something thousand?) to see a game in Tupelo (or whereever this game was played). Just as they're ooohing and aahhing over the crowd, the camera pans back and shows vast swaths of empty seats in the end zone. Less than 2/3 full.
I found that funny.

Great win in all phases of the game.
Playcalling is getting better every week. As Snags has noted, we've incorporated some witchcraft that involves a large, lineman-looking feller catching the football. Wild stuff. The young WRs are getting some good reps in quality time. Stove, in particular, is finding his place on the team. Pettway...what can you say about this guy? Feed him the rock and then unleash KJ upon the weary remains of the defenders. And last, but certainly not least, Sean Motherfuckin White running the ball, throwing downfield....what what? Dude has moxie far beyond the limitations of his frail little body.
On the defensive performance: I gotta say, it was a positively Ted Roof-ish performance. Let the opposing team run wild in the first half and then lock them the fuck down in the second. Sound strategy as long as you can outpace your opponent's scoring. Luckily, we can. Kelly deserves all the props he gets...and that first half performance (sans running game or serviceable OL) eclipsed the praise heaped upon him. Hated to see Williams (x2) and Davis go down...we'll need warm bodies heading into the stretch.
Barring some mind-fucking that trips them up, this Tiger team is heading to the Iron Bowl to play for the SECW (somebody trip up A&M, please...looking at you LSU.) It burns my ass that we wasted two games early in the season while exploring the deep reaches of Mr. Coach Kline's playbook...but we can still be in Atlanta in early December.
Florida looks like the likely east champ, though Kentucky has an outside shot. I like our chances against the Gaytors and then we're in the playoffs. Raise your hand if you saw this as even the remotest possibility on September 18th. I sure as fuck didn't.
It may all crash and burn next week, but for now I'm fucking feeling it.
-
KP..."Nobody wanted to tackle me". Yep, you are correct Mr Pettway.
Kelley was killing it with the passing game making our DBs look silly and the DL didn't get the push I would have thought. However, these feelings of mine come from being spoiled just a bit after the last 4 weeks. Its a good feeling to have and it's been a long time since being a little spoiled with the performance of AU football. This was a great win.
Here we come bama.

Weskie nailed it. Kelly and those receivers did exactly what I feared they might do. And he was pin point accurate. With most of them being quick release plays, we couldn't put the kind of pressure on him we needed. The one negative I took from that game is that we really didn't tackle wurf a damn. Very unusual for this year's D.
Regardless, a double digit win on the road in the SEC West....Delicious Awesomeness!

I'm really curious this week regarding rankings considering the number teams losing yesterday.

When the Tuesday poll comes out, I'm thinking Auburn will be #10.

I say #11.
You heard it here first, folks.

I found the don't shoot me bro Halloween outfit that they showed on tv to be funny....or is this something else?

Don't get your hopes up. I watched it again. This was nothing more than a tackle eligible trickeration play. We suckered them in with the ole Notre Dame box and then threw the ball to the tackle. Sigh...
AU has no TE...

While I share some of the same sentiment...OMG at the offensive holding. We got what? One call. I understand a bit goes on every play, but this was a hug fest.

Maybe not the norm but a good to have in the back pocket type play.

Harris had to be excited. His first pass ever...TD.
With his size, he doesn't have to be Tony Gonzales, just toss him a few each game!
-
I'm surprised Carl Lawson had a jersey left to wear. He was getting straight up hugged by the OL.
Did you see the blatant hold on Marlon Davidson on the play that we got the late hit out of bounds?
-
Even my 10 year old son was calling the holds. I don't think anyone on here expects those calls on every play, but most of the holds were just over the top.

Don't forget the blatant bad spots I seen at least twice.
-
I honestly don't think our D line played all that bad for being tackled every single play in the first half. Officials were bad no matter how you spin it. I will say that our secondary was picked apart in the first half and some of the second. But when it mattered, a huge pick that to me was the play of the game. Great win on the road!!
-

Looked as if Ole Miss only needed to get within a yard and a half to be awarded a first down.
-

No doubt, there were some missed holding calls for sure. Probably some $100 hand shakes going on just before kickoff.
-
Don't forget the blatant bad spots I seen at least twice.
Funny thing is, the commentators made not one mention of it that I recall. Like mentioned, I know there were at least two 1st downs given to Ole Miss on bad spots.
-
Kelly made throws in that game that no defense could stop. He also had the interception to Holsey (who played out of his mind) that cost them a chance.
-

DUDE thank you, glad someone other than with O&B glasses saw that. Holy cow it was 3 times I saw that they spotted the ball at least a yard further than when the player went down...I mean not even questionable. There was one that was like 2 yards.

Ole Miss was wearing red and the refs probably thought it was the Alabama game where that happens all the time. Also, no holding calls fit into this "red" theory.
That's what we are going to call it - the Red Theory.
-

Musberger was too busy worrying about next weeks Tenn Tech vs Tenn game and talking about our astounding Freshman Ed Stove and how well he's adapted to playing on D.
-

Holsey was the only one in the secondary that appeared to have read the game plan this week. He made several other plays along the way even though it appeared they were going after him a lot.

Sounds like CNN at a Killary rally.

I spotted what I believed to be 3 or 4 holds on our D Line that were not called. I believe 2 of those were against Lawson. One looked like a take down!
And, I did notice one horrible spot.
We were lucky to get out of there with a win. No doubt.
Kelly is a good QB but he was on fire and playing above his typical level. A lot of those passes were impossible to defend.
-

Agree. Not sure who the receiver was that Holsey was covering. But I'm guessing Kelly was forced to throw somewhat earlier than he wanted before the receiver made his break and it turned out to be a bang/bang play.
-

The worst one I seen was on a play where there was also a hold on the end. Receiver made diving catch that I didn't even think he made and they spotted him 1 1/2 yards for the 1st down. Early in the game.
I understand that linemen hold and they can't call it all game long, but when the defensive end is being held it's noticeable to everyone, it absolutely affects the play and it should be called everytime.
